Sophomore: UCF has versatile multimodal class types, which is very convenient. Many courses are offered in person or online, and typically there are many different time slots, paces, and professors to choose from. As myself and most other college students have jobs and extracurriculars, this flexibility helps to promote a balanced schedule. A very useful amenity that UCF supplies is free writing tutors. Any paper, draft, or outline can be professionally reviewed by the Writing Center's staff, as they provide feedback and suggestions to scaffold writing to its highest potential. Additionally, UCF has fantastic advising staff. In three sessions, my advisor was able to help me plan my next four semesters of courses in a systematic way! Junior: This school is top tier, the professors not only care about their students but they help every way possible to help their students achieve greatness. They have a ton of resources to help freshmen students, like the panther to panther mentor program, they also assign you a success coach, and invite students to workshops geared towards your major both in person and virtual for free! You have access to Handshake which is a career builder website that offers assistance on how to build your resume and you have recruiters who are looking for prospective students to work for them. There are experts who review your resume and help you to revise it so you’re more desirable to employers. Handshake is also a great website to help you get involved in the different activities on campus. Senior: Great school, a lot of diversity, excellent professors. Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry is the only optometric academic institution in the state of Florida. Students are able to enjoy South Florida's renowned weather, beaches, and other attractions and participate in the college's numerous student organizations while receiving strong didactic and clinical training that will thoroughly prepare them for their professional careers. Freshman: I don’t think there is anything I would change. Keiser University is a very attentive school that really cares for each student. Freshman: I'm only a recent freshman right now, but all the staff and faculty seem very friendly, they always urge you to take advantage of the school's multiple resources. They include the Career Center that helps you with polishing your resume, practice interviews, taking professional headshots, and reviewing your career plans; the Counseling and Psychology Services, the Center of Teaching and Learning that offers tutoring in math and English, and amazing advisors who can help you at every step along the way during college. Freshman: Barry University is both a place of comfort and a place that pushes you to step out of your comfort zone. Being at Barry, you are introduced to different people from different parts of the world. Despite how diverse it is, everyone is treated equally. At first, I use to think that the teachers and Students were just being nice because I was a freshman. Turns out, that’s just the effect that Barry University has on you. Junior: My college experience with Valencia is unlike any other. Got into college, I was very nervous, but the administration and advisors at Valencia helped me each step of the way and welcomed me with open arms. Despite being a 2-year college, Valencia is deserving of a 5-star institution because they care about their students. Freshman: The teachers are quite flexible and well knowledgeable in their areas of expertise. I have not had an issue of late grading or teaching. Most courses have an online option as well as a physical class. Despite restrictions due to COVID, the school still manages to keep school events going with social distancing and masks. They still keep up with school clubs and free lunch meet-ups to discuss informative topics concerning education and life planning during college and after graduation. The campus is safe, as there is always security riding around keeping an eye on the school grounds. SFSC does have housing available to full-time students at the Jacaranda Residence Facility, though I have not stayed at the dorms there myself. I believe the sports have been delayed due to the pandemic, but they did have volleyball, track, and baseball teams. Freshman: My experience with Hillsborough Community College during my first year was great. Just like how teachers from high school would explain, especially from AVID classes, college is very flexible as we can simply pick our classes, our teachers, and what days and times we want throughout the week. However, certain student advisors are very verbally brutal - especially with my experience at the Brandon campus, this kind of damaged me mentally, and I was discouraged easily with my first major as I thought my prerequisite GPA was nowhere competitive. Another small issue I've noticed during the spring season, from the Brandon campus alone, are the invasion and growth of little fuzzy caterpillars outside the buildings - those little critters quite scare me. Other than that, Hillsborough Community College has been a wonderful experience so far and their SGA has been so active to help many dedicated students at ease! Sophomore: Great affordable school! I started dual enrollment classes in 2018 when I was a sophomore in high school. By the time I graduated high school, I had earned half of my AA degree. That huge jumpstart allowed me to complete my degree at 19. Although registration and other resources can sometimes be a bit of a mess, the courses and many of the professors are great. Sophomore: Broward College is a great school to earn your Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree! There are many different types of classes you can chose from, and if you are looking to stay in the area and still live at home while taking classes, then Broward College is a great choice! It’s never too crowded if you feel like you are on the shy side, and the teachers are very helpful. They don’t make you feel secluded and are always there to help. Broward College has a great tutoring recourse called he ASC, and are open every day of the week. I have been plenty of times when I had to study for my Anatomy and Physiology practicals and it was great! There were never too many people in the rooms, and teachers are always there to help you at your pace, and at all times. They love to help you learn and is a great opportunity when you feel stuck. Junior: I started at AdventHealth university in 2019 and got accepted into their nursing program in fall of 2020. Overall this school is amazing. However it is extremely competitive. This school has made me grow my spirituality, self discipline, Professionalism and academics. The professors go above and beyond to help their students succeed. They provide free counseling for every student. There students health and mental health is at their top priority along with their students safety. Their student housing is amazing. There is a gate that is locked at all time and the only way in is with a key fob. The apartments are two bedroom apartment with one full bath. There is a laundry room right down stairs. There is a student lounge where a gym and game room are located. This school is not a party school there extremely strict on rules. Senior: It’s a small college, similar experience if you were to go to Keiser University. The college is somewhat new so not everything is in place. But it’s a great option for those looking for a great starter college. The staff is good the students vary many are athletes. The school is a Christian School with HBCU type roots. For me I decided to transfer out of a State Community College and go here instead I think it was a good decision. Either way it’s accreditation is good and similar to graduating from the likes of a State College. So people do kind of look at your Bachelors like a Associates of Science degree in the work field.
