Sophomore: Mostly instructors are understanding and make course work reasonable. The staff at St.Philip's College in the departments are nice as well as always willing to help out in any way possible. There is a sense of community throughout with no parties feeling left out. I would recommend anyone to go to St.Philips college or any of the Alamo Colleges. Tuition is reasonable making it easier for student to go to school there are oppertunites for tutoring including resources such as books as well as even checking out laptops if a student does not have access to technology even hotspots. The college even offers help in finding childcare assistance, transfer students to earn higher education, work oppertunites, and the flexibility to do different types of learning. You have the option to do online, hybrid, zoom, or face-to-face interactions along with being full or part-time during school to accommodate for individuals working hours. Niche User: Northwest Vista is an incredible college with a beautiful campus. There are some really incredible professors employed at Northwest Vista College. In particular, Robert DiGiovanni was an excellent professor who made himself available by phone via call or text! He had excellent pre-recorded videos prior (many years prior) to covid. His methodologies of working through problems were superb. I think that he is reflective of most of the professors I had at Northwest Vista College. The great thing about Northwest Vista college is that it is one of five other 2 year universities within the Alamo Colleges umbrella. This means that you have a massive selection of professors, as well as online options. The prices of courses within the Alamo Colleges system are outstanding. North East Lakeview's nickname is the Nighthawks, and its mascot is Nico. Pell grants are available to families with low incomes. In addition to books, there are clothes, furnishings, a hotline for academic records, family activities, a gym, sports games, and rooms for games. Students will find great teachers, tutoring, new campus structures, professionals in the heart of Texas, an easy schedule, flexible online classes available, and one-hour minimum classes on campus. Alum: This is the campus I finished my associates degree at as an early college student and it was a very smooth ride. Even transitioning during the pandemic was very smooth. The professors were always nice to every student and always helping with resources. There were always activities to participate in outside of school, and there were always people ready to work with you to help you achieve any goal. This school was very in touch with its cultural roots, it was always nice to hear music almost anywhere on campus. I loved coming here and everyone I know who came here did as well!... Sophomore: I enrolled into San Antonio College as a new start to a new city. I gained my prerequisites prior to transferring, and enjoyed all of the instructors who have taught me thus far. The classes are small which allowed me to build relationships with my teachers, and they are very community forward. If you need help with anything outside of the classroom, they will share what resources they have to help you be successful! On campus life was extremely active and engaging as well! Sophomore: Pros: Overall good community college. Multiple colleges around San Antonio that offer different courses and technical programs for your convenience . The professors are always willing to help and offer off hours or after class help. The campasses feel safe and the schools offer training for safety. There are emergency phones in the parking lot. The parking lots are well lite at night. Cheap classes. Cons: The nursing and radiology programs are tough to get into to. Take your classes and transfer to a University or Tech school.
