My experience has been incredibly positive so far beginning with my initial tour of the campus, through the application and acceptance process and lastly checking off my "to do" checklist in order to be ready for orientation. Senior: Rollins provided me with a great overall college experience! Rollins offers a complete education and its beautiful campus allows a student to foster their passions and grow as an individual. Here I meet my friends in my first week as a freshman who I see every day and live with. A student at Rollins feels like they have an impact on their local and global community through clubs, organizations, and a great student-to-faculty ratio. The school is truly catered to the student. Sophomore: Overall, my experience at Stetson University as a freshman was overall good. My experience with professors was amazing, almost all of them being not only my professors, but guides in this new era of my life. Particularly, Dr. Markley and Dr. Burke were my shining lights. Dr. Markley helped to make learning fun and exciting, and talked to us not like we were beneath her, but on the same level as us. Dr. Burke lit a passionate flame for learning and activism that I feel as if no one can extinguish. She was truly a guide in the tumultuous times we are in. Though, there were moments with other faculty and staff that made my experience a bit difficult. My housing was messed up because I wasn't put on an email list. Luckily, that was corrected, and the housing department was very helpful in getting me proper housing and accommodations. Alum: Overall my experience was great! I got to meet other creatives, not just in my degree program digital art and design but, film, media communications and music. The degree programs at Full Sail University are set at an accelerated pace so you're able to get you bachelors in two years instead of four years as usually. This is because you're taking two classes every month and are essentially in class almost everyday of the week, it's kinda like a job. You'll get access to all the current software used in your field of study by professionals and depending on the degree program a hands on experience with going on film sets, sound stages and more. I do recommend choosing your degree program wisely as some of this stuff you can learn on your own at home. An example would be the adobe creative cloud for graphic design. Freshman: Everything at Herzing is clearly designed to help you succeed. The staff, from the security guard to admissions to financial aid and beyond, are all super helpful and nice. Even when I made a mistake, they were right there with me trying to figure out how it could be fixed. They truly care. Herzing also has various programs to assist students which is amazing. They help with getting your first job after graduation, including resume and interview assistance. They have a place where you can get mental health services so you don't get too burned out from your coursework. It's just amazing compared to other campuses I've seen. The Orlando campus is rather small compared to some of the other colleges nearby (UCF, Full Sail and Valencia), only one building with several stories high. But I think it's better that way. Sophomore: My Freshman year at Beacon College was one of the best experiences. It is a school for students with disabilities such as myself. Beacon college has an amazing staff that are highly trained to teach students who learn different. Beacon college has many clubs and extra curicular activities such as a student center, gaming clubs, zumba and excercise programs. What I would like to see change is more housing options and mayne more security on campus. Freshman: The experience so far with Everglades University has been nothing short of fantastic. I work full-time, so having the ability to take classes online and on my own schedule has been a game changer when trying to get work done. The staff at the university have been more than helpful through my journey so far and I have been enjoying every class. Being that these classes run for a month at a time, I am able to absorb the knowledge and keep my attention on things easier. I could not recommend EU more to young and older adults alike! Freshman: Keiser University has been great with helping me figure out the correct route to take as a non-traditional student. Going back to school as an adult over the age over 25 can be very hard and discouraging at times. You have so many things to think about in life plus you have to responsibility of school added on to daily tasks. My admissions advisor Patricia, guided me to the best saw educational plan available for an individual like myself. Being single with no kids adds a plus in my flexibility. Wanda in Financial Aid helped me reach as much money as possible, as going to a Private university is not easy nor is it cheap.
