Birmingham-Southern College
Sophomore: When researching colleges I took it upon myself to do detailed research on every college in the United States where I could receive a valuable education, compete in my sport, and be a part of a family. I visited twelve colleges in eight states before I found Birmingham-Southern College. The thirteen-hour drive did not deter me from packing up my life in Texas and moving to the state of Alabama because I had fallen in love with the college and the state. I knew I had found a new home.
On my campus, I am a tour guide, an athlete, an orientation leader, a tutor, a woman in stem, an honor society member and involved in Greek life. I do not participate in these activities for my resume. I participate in these activities because I love my community and my chosen family.
