Texas Christian University
#2 Best Colleges in Dallas-Fort Worth Area
- 4 Year
- Fort Worth, TX
Senior: Texas Christian University embodies a unique social and academic culture that has allowed me to grow in more ways that I would have ever imagined. Students are confident and passionate to pursue their deep desires. I love the wide variety of opportunities the school offers to be involved on campus or in the Fort Worth community. Class size is medium to small, which is perfect for discussions and getting to know the professors. The population is small enough to feel like a family, yet large enough to get the full "college" experience. TCU can also be challenging, because you are surrounded by high achievers and competition. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming to compare to people around you, but ultimately it has spurred me on to be the best version of me. TCU is a world-changing place!

Senior: 3 Reasons Why DBU is NOT For You.
DBU is not for you if you like to
drink & party all the time. There are strict rules against alcohol on campus, which is bad for some and great for others.
You're not serious about your faith.
DBU is very serious about Christianity.
I have friends who went to TCU & SMU, both are not
Christ-centered in overall campus environment.
DBU integrates Christianity into almost every aspect
of the univ.
For EX: Professors begin class with prayer, most of staff is very helpful
in guiding you to grow in your faith. Chapel is required for all students.
You like big classes you can miss.
DBU is famous for small class sizes
are very personal. You dont get to be late without anyone noticing.
Class attendance = mandatory but you dont get marked up for being late
If you're serious about ur faith and growing to be the best person you can be physically, mentally and spiritually
DBU would be a perfect school for you!

Southwestern Assemblies of God University

Senior: This is an incredible place to pursue God's calling on your life. The administration wants you to find your purpose more than they want your tuition or your enrollment count.
If you're looking to party, don't come here. If you're looking to grow, then come and take advantage of relationships with friends, faculty, and administration. The academic rigor here is not exactly what I had hoped it would be, but a university's classes don't need to pummel you into the ground for you to learn beneficial information.
Overall, this is an awesome place to be challenged in your faith, to sharpen and refine it, and to figure out God's purpose for you. This school holds fast to the Bible as its direction as an institution.
I can barely recognize the freshman me who came here a few years ago. Southwestern didn't "fix" me, but the people here modeled for what it really looks like to honor God with your life while still being a fun, normal individual.

Houston Baptist University

Freshman: Houston Baptist University is a great university to go to because of the environment and the staff members who work at the university. The environment is not only clean, but also positive as the people get along with one another. The staff members at Houston Baptist University always strive to encourage the students to do their best in classes and in their personal lives. They also create many different events and to try and engage with the students. The most important thing that Houston Baptist University offers is spiritual growth. The campus has a variety of programs (Bible studies, convocations, etc.) that allow the students to fellowship with their mentors and increase their love for God. Houston Baptist University is an excellent college to attend and a person would not regret applying to this university!
