Sophomore: As a parent of a sophmore in Visual Arts and Writing programs, I feel so grateful she got in. First of all she got a full ride, they removed a massive strain off of our family and did it completely and thoroughly. She had met and spoken with several faculty members before applying (Early Decision) and visited the campus, and they were so helpful and supportive it really allowed us to make a confident Early Decision. My daughter is gifted, but shy shy shy, and her mother is Brazilian, so VERY attached and we worried about sending her away. It was tough, but the support of programs like Deneb Stars and the many other programs (including late night escorts for safety) allowed her to make the leap and find her feet. Once the pandemic hit, WashU was amongst the first half dozen schools to move online (they are now hybrid, my daughter is working from home). Graduate Student: Marion Technical College was a healthy environment to learn in. I had no trouble understanding what I was being taught. The staff was very kind and was helpful throughout the whole way starting with my application to Marion Technical College. I loved the hands on training they had for me and other students not just with my major but others as well. Even though Covid-19 has gotten in the way to do off campus activities I knew that it would be a new great learning environment for me. I enjoyed the maturity that was portrayed at the college as well. I felt safe being on the campus knowing the security at the school was taking very seriously by only being allowed in if u had a badge along with a officer. Which being safe where I am at is very important to me as well as should be for many others. What I would to see change for Marion Tech is the application. Freshman: I don’t think there is anything I would change. Keiser University is a very attentive school that really cares for each student. Graduate Student: Not only did I save money going to a two year, but I felt like I got the experience of a four year. The facilities are almost all brand new, the campus is beautiful. There is a lake on the campus that looks amazing at sunset. There are multiple places to study with a view and to hang out with your friends. Harper has a cafeteria that is pretty good for a two year. They have a lot of variety for cheap. I was a Track athlete at Harper College so I would stay on campus from 8am to 10pm everyday. This cafeteria saved my appetite and my wallet. The teachers were always very helpful! With medium sized classes, I was able to form connections with my teachers that helped me throughout the semester but also hide if I wanted. As an athlete I spent most of my time in the Health and Recreation Center, by far one of the best gyms I ever worked out at! I'm still trying to find a gym like this one at other places. Freshman: Ogeechee Tech College seems like a nice college campus with friendly and helpful staff members. I plan on attending there for this coming Summer semester so i am more than excited for that! The area around the college seems a little depressing and gloomy but hopefully i will like it once i start. The only thing i do not really care for is the layout of the college campus buildings. Alum: Elgin Community College is well known for its second name (Easy, Close, and Cheap). It's a quality school filled with motivated students and teachers who work together to make a lively and easy college life. While it's on the cheaper side, that doesn't mean that they aren't a quality school. Even though many have moved on from this 2-year institution, I, along with them, agree that it's one of, if not the best, college we've attended. The school provides many programs of study and will be able to prepare you for a 4-year college. Sophomore: McLennan Community College has been amazing! It has let me step into my degree while staying at home and cheapened my college costs excessively. I loved the teachers within the engineering department, and they have helped tremendously whenever I become confused on things. There is no housing on campus, but there are many apartments nearby. The scholarships to pay for school have been very rewarding as well. The campus is smaller than most, but it is still beautiful. I have never felt in danger while there either. The professors were wonderful. Nursing Pre requisites are not easy and require work but all my professors were very helpful. The campus is nice and I n a great area. Sophomore: Lake Superior College has an amazing faculty. I have yet to run into any issues with them as I did at a prior community college.
