Freshman: University of Pittsburgh is a great school with many diverse tools students can utilize to get the best out of their time here. Alum: I only attended GW for my final year of grad school (and entirely online because of COVID), but I absolutely loved all of the professors, students, and content that I came into contact with through the university. GWU was actually a very close second in my choices for undergrad, and I sometimes still wish I had chosen GW. Sophomore: Since enrolling at the University of Central Florida there have been many ups and downs. Some things I really enjoyed about the campus was just its mass size. Not only in square miles but also in student population UCF is one of the biggest universities in the United States. With UCF having over 68,000 students it is very easy to network with peers. With that being said, having so many students does make it difficult for UCF to provide all the services students may need in a timely manner. For example, during registration period advisors are very limited and could be scheduled out for 3 weeks. I wish that during busy period that more staff were available to help students in need. UCF does offer walk-in advising which I believe was a great way to combat that issue. Sophomore: My second year was so much better than my first. I felt excluded my freshman year and felt I didn't fit in. I live off campus around 25 minutes away and it is so much better than living on campus. One thing that needs to change is the consequences students should face for destroying their own dorm building. Part of this reason was why my first year went bad by the lack of respect students had for their campus. I did not like being surrounded by those type of people. Th CAs needs to do something about it as well as housing administration. This year (my second year), I took a Calculus 1 Engineering course for my minor in Astronomy. Freshman: I am currently taking the EMS program along with a forensic science class through FVTC, and I enjoy it very much! While my classes are at the Public Safety Training Center, I am frequently on the main Appleton campus, and it is an amazing place. The culture and friendliness from the staff and students is welcoming and they will go out of their way to help you. The food on campus is pretty nice as well. They do something neat at the main campus for lunches, where the culinary students prepare meals for the students. As for the public safety building, it's also very nice and honestly, I feel everyone there is even nicer because you all have a common theme in your degree programs. Senior: My experience at Temple was amazing! I met my best friends that I will be living with after graduation. I got to take classes I loved, and I feel like I am leaving Temple with a well rounded education. I enjoyed living in Philadelphia so much. I really think living in North Philadelphia was a learning experience on its own. Senior: Mercer is small and a great way to connect to people. You’ll never walk somewhere on campus without bumping into at least 1 person you know! 85% of the professors I had at the Macon campus were amazing and actually want to get to know you. Sports are so so but still fun to attend the events because again, everyone is so connected. Lots of opportunity for involvement and the community on campus is so supportive. Outside of the campus, it is kind of a rough area. Downtown has got super great weekend activities/restaurants. One unique aspect of Mercer is Z beans. Z beans was started by a mercer student and the university decided to implement their shop right on campus which shows they believe in their students. Some management/advising areas truly don’t make sense in why they do things but I think all universities are like that. Admissions is 10/10 super helpful though. Freshman: Virginia Commonwealth University is a great school for those interested in the arts. I'm currently enrolled in the Art Foundation program and I've had an amazing experience. Freshman: Although my experience with George Mason University is still relatively early on, I can attest that GMU has thorough communication from not only their website, but with the academic advisor. Freshman: The Downtown Phoenix campus of ASU is really great! Staff there are friendly, and the dining hall food is also good most of the time. Teachers are easy to reach, and communication is also very simple, you just have to do it first! They won't go to you! The people on campus are also really nice for the most part, it is really easy to socialize with the events that are always happening either on dorm floors, the patio floor, on Taylor Street, or in the Civics Space Park nearby. I have been able to meet lots of people on campus and even the TA's are super helpful. There are also many areas to study like the common areas on each floor, the many tables outside the dorm, library, or even Starbucks on the first floor of Taylor Place! Downtown Campus is also pretty clean for the most part, some trash here or there, but people there are very tidy and seem to be serious about their studies. Great experience overall so far.... Freshman: I'm only a recent freshman right now, but all the staff and faculty seem very friendly, they always urge you to take advantage of the school's multiple resources. They include the Career Center that helps you with polishing your resume, practice interviews, taking professional headshots, and reviewing your career plans; the Counseling and Psychology Services, the Center of Teaching and Learning that offers tutoring in math and English, and amazing advisors who can help you at every step along the way during college.
