Sophomore: The student organizations, resources for students, and variety of courses is incredible. Every day I discover a new opportunity for professional and personal growth and the resources for mental and physical health are phenomenal. The fitness centers on campus have classes, personal training, and top notch equipment. There are so many ways to get involved and a club for EVERY interest, both personal and professional. My only complaints are that the advisors can be hit or miss. Some advisors are incredible and give you a breath of information and provide you with a ton of resources but some advisors left me with more questions than answers. Some of the professors are amazing and passionate and the reason why I changed my major to economics. On the other hand some professors were so incredibly bad that I changed my major to something outside of their discipline. Senior: John Jay is a great choice for many students. I can personally speak to my experience as a STEM student in the Forensic Science major. The class sizes are small, so students have a more meaningful relationship with their mentors. There are lots of clubs and campus activities for students to partake in, and it's not unusual to be on my way to class to randomly see goodie bags or free food for an event in hound square! John Jay does not have a traditional campus feel (most of the population is made up of commuters) but makes up for it with its facilities. The JayWalk is a gorgeous courtyard where students often relax between classes and enjoy the weather. Furthermore, there are so many hidden gems for food and recreational activities in the blocks surrounding campus, which feel very safe. In fact, a few food places (shout out to Justino's Pizza) gives student discounts for food! CUNY is fantastic with internship/externship/research programs for undergraduate students. Best of luck!... Junior: I love the professors and the staff! The facilities are maintained and are being updated, and any new construction is there to benefit the students and staff. Freshman: Ogeechee Tech College seems like a nice college campus with friendly and helpful staff members. I plan on attending there for this coming Summer semester so i am more than excited for that! The area around the college seems a little depressing and gloomy but hopefully i will like it once i start. The only thing i do not really care for is the layout of the college campus buildings. They have the main campus building almost in the back when you would think it would be at the front of the campus so new students and visitors would be able to easily see it. Freshman: I am currently taking the EMS program along with a forensic science class through FVTC, and I enjoy it very much! While my classes are at the Public Safety Training Center, I am frequently on the main Appleton campus, and it is an amazing place. The culture and friendliness from the staff and students is welcoming and they will go out of their way to help you. The food on campus is pretty nice as well. They do something neat at the main campus for lunches, where the culinary students prepare meals for the students. As for the public safety building, it's also very nice and honestly, I feel everyone there is even nicer because you all have a common theme in your degree programs. The instructors are amazing, very funny and helpful, and have great teaching styles. The town behind the building also helps you to experience real life situations without being in the real world. Senior: College of the Ozarks is a working college, which means tuition is completely free. I gave this school a 4/5 because no college is perfect. It is difficult to juggle 15 hr work weeks, 15+ credits, attend mandatory convocations and chapels each semester, and also be involved with the community in your dorm, on campus, and the surrounding area; however, the benefits far outweigh the difficulties! Graduating debt-free is truly priceless, and the teachers and work supervisors I had there were exceptional. Junior: I love it so far. I just started in the radiologic technology program there and I was able to apply early, and the staff was very accepting and helpful with that. They provided me will all the information and handouts that I needed, the day that I asked for them, and even after office hours which I appreciate SO much.
