Sophomore: After two semesters at PC I can say that I am EXTREMELY happy about choosing this community college as my reentrance into college life as an "adult learner". After a hiatus from school due to health and financial reasons, it took the pandemic to put things into perspective and remind me of what I truly value and enjoy in life: my education. Since enrolling at PC I've found real personal and professional success and have been pleasantly surprised at how many resources the college makes available to it's student body, the extracurriculars and community involvement opportunities (I, myself, have participated in PC's business club, Model UN, the region's #1 PTK honors society, DEI facilitator training, flexible work opportunities, and choir!) and an incredibly knowledgeable staff that is earnestly interested in preparing us for success in the next steps in our careers- whether that be getting certifications, associate degree, or transferring to a fantastic university. Sophomore: PVCC is a great school to start your college journey. The classes are affordable, the campus is easy to navigate, and the professors are usually pretty great. When deciding on a degree path, the advisors are excellent at helping you get on track. My last two semesters there were a bit confusing and I was having difficulty figuring out what classes I needed to sign up for so that I could properly transfer my credits to the graduate school I chose. My academic advisor was thorough and replied to my messages quickly. He made sure I was on the right track and everything has gone through correctly. The counseling office was also helpful. Classes and home life tend to be stressful for me, but having access to professionals in counseling that I could meet with for free was a blessing to me. I felt assured by them and my professors were accommodating when I talked to them about it. Freshman: I've had friends take online classes before, but none of their schools compares to Yavapai College in Prescott Arizona. Not only are the teachers amazing and really give you that one on one time to ask questions and actually learn things, but they also provide you with a laptop and hotspot in case you don't have your own. Financial aid is on top of everything, making sure that you get everything filled out and submitted on time to get grants and scholarships. All of the student advisors I've had have been really helpful in helping me to decide which classes to take so that I wasn't overwhelmed and would have the time to do my best in each one. Sophomore: It was very good. I took live online classes because it was in COVID times, but it was still good given the circumstances and the affordability of it. I was happy with it, and basically the only things I would improve would be to make sure the students are understanding and don't have questions before moving on and on from lesson to lesson. I experienced this in my math class. I had straight A's in all of my classes--except for math class. This happened both semesters of the year I did college online in COVID times. The professors at this school were all quite good, I was happy with them. Most of them were very competent and good at explaining and teaching, and even the few that weren't seemed to care a lot about the well-being of the students, and be sympathetic to our situation with all the COVID online weirdness going on. Sophomore: Glendale community college as a great school to attain pre requisites or even associate degrees at. They are quick and reliable to assist with any issues and always provide the best accommodations possible to each students. Has the nicest teachers that do their best to make sure you’re able to understand all the material. Not to mention how much cheaper it is to other schools! When I first started at Glendale I had signed up for a class on a different campus. I was shown to the enrollment center and got it fixed and enrolled into a new class on the correct campus in under 25minutes. Freshman: For my first semester doing online classes was a neat experience. Both instructors were on top with communication if you needed help understanding the assignments or having difficulties with it or even needing an extension for technical reasons that one could be struggling. The fact that they have student services where one can take opportunity to use whether it's getting help with essays or math by tutors or using their online tutoring services for free which makes it stress free. Also services to assist in how to find scholarships and learn how to write scholarship essays too. Everyone there is helpful and courteous which helps calm any anxiety and can answer any questions you may have about enrollment, financial aid and such. In regards to what I would like to see change would be a big change but it would be nice instead of having to commute to a different city MCC campus for a profession that isn't taught at Kingman MCC. Junior: CCC is a great school for new and transfer students! They offer much more affordable course costs whether you are classified as an in district/ out-of-district/ out of state student. This is comparing to our next door neighbors, Northern Arizona Uni. When it came to taking general education courses, CCC made it much more affordable to earn credits that WILL transfer over to a 4 year university. The community of staff/ employees assisted me in making sure the courses I took will transfer over to Northern AZ Uni. This led to my time not being wasted on courses that wont transfer over. The amount of resources available made it very easy to stay on top of my courses and exams throughout my semesters. I have had mostly all great instructors but I could not complain with how much I have learned and taken with me for further education at a 4 year institution. You wont regret starting off here!...
