Niche User: I am so excited to be attending there next year! They have an endless amount of opportunities for me as a Journalism major. Ranging from amazing equipment to amazing job opportunities within the school, one being KU Athletics. The school is huge which allows for many opportunities to meet all kinds of different people from all over. I get to learn about their cultures and ways of life that I didn't even know about before. Freshman: Wichita State University is a great start for someone who is looking for a college and lives around the Wichita area. I grew up in Wichita and have always had a hard time fitting in. But at Wichita State University, I feel like there are many places where I could connect with others who share similar interests. I plan to finish my degree with Wichita State University and look for more opportunities that are made easily accessible by the university. However, my problem with WSU is the surrounding area and it does not have many sports. WSU feels limited in the freedom of students because Wichita surrounds it. This makes it harder to experience "college life", especially when I have grown up here. Also, I know there are complications with sports here, but I believe that we can bring back an amazing football and basketball team that can compete in college sports leagues. Freshman: My experience at Southwestern College has been interesting. It is not a very large college, so almost everyone knows everyone. I can say however that there is always something for you to do on campus, like attending a volleyball game or a soccer game or football games in the fall.
