Freshman: I absolutely love Jefferson! I love how motivating and nice the professors are. The faculty is always there to help when you're confused, and the resources provided to students are amazing. Sophomore: I wanted independence and time alone to spend doing the things I wanted, figuring out who I am and what I want to do when I came to IUP. Since I always wanted to travel and explore different places my decision of choosing IUP wasn’t regrettable. While being alone for the first time was overwhelming and brought with it many responsibilities, I slowly began to enjoy doing those tasks as it kept me busy during the day. My time at IUP has given me great friends, a space to let my mind wander, and the opportunity to learn about hobbies and interests without question. Still, I have a long way to go and more to learn about. In the process of coming out of my shell, I'm still figuring out certain aspects of living as I go along. At IUP, you have different varieties of clubs, sports and entertainment, there are amazing places to unwind and relax or hang out with friends after a long day at Oak Grove, the pool, the hub and even the gym! Freshman: This is a wonderful cc to go to if you're looking to save money without compromising your education. The professors actually care about you and your experience. The campus works to make sure all the studdents get the attention and resources they need. I recommend attending here if you're looking for a cc where you can have interesting classes as well. If you're really looking to save money, apply for the "Honors Scholars Program." If you get in, you get your first 2 years of higher education for free! Since it's a cc, sports and parties are not very big here. You need to make friends and then find parties with them if you want to do that. The diversity on campus is not anything impressive but it's a lot better than many PWIs in this area. There are clubs and events to make it as easy as possible for you to connect with others.... Freshman: Overall, my college is very unique. In all one street people who live in Reading all have their education all in one line. Which is very cool to people who aren't from the city of Reading, PA. The school itself is very diverse and takes pride in that. We are all about the community and they care about their upcoming students. We moved in a few days before the school year started just to get comfortable in the college setting and get to know our teachers. The professors here are very understanding and encouraging to their students. Letting us students know that our mental health matters more than a grade sometimes. Sophomore: My experience at Harcum College was definitely memorable. Along with the activities and many opportunities to get involved, Harcum created a welcoming environment for me to easily get settled in to. Sophomore: I’ve enjoyed how professors have encouraged me to explore outside of my comfort zone. Critiquing my work in a serious manner but at the same time, their feedback includes manners to improve the work and reasons why such changes need to be made. Setting up projects to make us think quickly, while taking our time to perfect the final product. Preparing students for how the world will expect us to work with similar projects. I would like to see the communication between the people in leadership roles of the school and students be improved. Although this is my second year, I’ve heard from fellow classmates of instances where important events or information was not given to them. Or asking for accommodations to the school going unheard, such as not having enough space for returning students. Concerned students attempting to make claims to future plans for the school not involving or addressing the issue of not having enough space for both returning and new incoming students....
