Sophomore: So far, my experience at Northwestern Stare University has been great! The classes are smaller than other public universities, and my professors know me by name and are happy to help students if they struggle in a particular subject. The faculty at NSU wants every student to succeed, so they all make sure to get the students in the classes that they need to graduate by helping with scheduling. There are also so many opportunities to get involved on campus- there is something for everyone. Campus involvement also provides an opportunity for scholarships, which is amazing! Academically, there isn’t anything I would like to be changed, but there is one thing that needs to be considered: the roads. They are very bumpy and a lot of the commuters and others who drive on campus have popped tires and damaged their vehicles because of the roads. Senior: I love the professors that are at Nicholls. They are very understanding and very helpful. Most of them are deemed as "mean", but this just means that they are doing their job. Most of them are helpful when it comes to grades and I really like that. People have so many things going on, so having our professors being understanding shows wonders. Sophomore: My experience at Southeastern Louisiana University is like no other. I could not imagine myself at any other University. With the great education, staff, food and student activities it can’t get any better! The diverse environment makes the whole campus thrive and all of the student organizations make it brighter. This university sets a good example on what a university should be, the people that I feel get the less recognition are the academic advisors without their guide our paths would be lost and southeastern definitely has the best ones.... Junior: I love Southern! The atmosphere is great and it feels as if you’re apart of a family! However, I would like to see a few things change. The campus and surrounding area could be worked on drastically. Most buildings are old and worn down so that could use some improvement. Also making sure that the students have a secure safe area around the school should be a priority. There’s not much to do around Southern, but if you are to drive 10 minutes away towards LSU campus the surrounding area is amazing filled with multiple shopping and food areas. Sophomore: What I liked most about my experience at Northwestern State University this far is the flexibility of my school schedule. I am a wife and mother and I also work full time. The structure of the online learning has worked really well for me and my family. Another thing that I like is that when it is time to register for class my advisor is readily available and can help me get registered if I am having any issues. I am capable of viewing the classes that are still needed and I am also capable of registering myself for the classes during the registration period. Every instructor that I have had so far has been really responsive when I have had questions throughout the course period. As of right now there is not anything that I would change.
