Senior: The university creates an engaging and lively atmosphere with smaller class sizes and personalized communication with professors. Everyone is kind and understanding and your education is a top priority. One of the best things about UM-Dearborn is the interaction between faculty on a one-to-one basis. Schools (such as U of M in Ann Arbor) do not have this connection as class sizes are often larger and more intimidating. However, UM-Dearborn is very intimate and professors and other faculty are open to questions and creating a bond with you. Freshman: Western Michigan University is a wonderful university where the city is mostly centered around being a college town. Nice big campus with some beautiful landmarks. Dorm size is relatively decent, but I have single room. There’s a lot of walking to do to cover the entire campus, and trust you get a hood workout with all the hills. The college of business is a great program to be a part of as well as the college of education. Bring that I am majoring in sports management my particular college is education but I’m minoring in business as well. As a freshman advisors are very necessary. They are the knees who really help you gain your college foundation. They help you set up your graduation plan which includes helping you select the appropriate courses. My first semester at Western has been overall great. I achieved a 4.0 for the end of the first term and that was a huge accomplishment. Sophomore: My overall experience at HFC has been good, I have no complaints at all. I've done online classes and in person classes and I prefer in person because you have the opportunity to talk to the professor and get them to explain stuff to you a little more. The teachers are patient and don't mind helping. The university is very diverse, and the the students are nice, and don't mind doing study groups.
