Sophomore: I love UMass! The campus is gorgeous and the school of business is excellent. There is nothing quite like the dining hall. There are lots of student resources for academics and academic achievement. Anything you could ask for, you can find on campus. However, the Amherst area off campus is also delightful. There are lots of local stores and resources like Target, Walmart, Staples, and Dunkin'. You can find things you need on campus at the school store. Or you can find lots of coffee on campus as there's a Starbucks, People's Organic Coffee, and Argo tea. All students are kind and welcoming. There's so many ways to get involved on campus with clubs, athletics, or greek life. The only thing I would advise about Varsity athletics is that the program is run poorly and the athletic directors show minimal care for corrupt activity of some of the coaches, especially the field hockey coach. Junior: I enjoy the nursing program and the students I am with. The profs are all very helpful. We as nursing students get clinical experience a year before most schools which is great! Freshman year I lived in a dorm. Since then I have been in an off campus apartment with my best friends and it has been great. The area around school is not the safest especially at night so it is important to travel with others and be aware of you surroundings. Classes are definitely tricky, but the teachers care about you. Any nursing school is difficult, but with time management, peers, and determination it is do able. I have made some friends I think I will have for life here! There are some events on campus such as shows, bingo which lots of people go to, sporting events, etc. It is a smaller school, but I prefer that. It was easier to get to know people and make friends in my opinion. Since classes are smaller there is more room to get help or ask questions. If you are considering nursing, it’s great!...
