Alum: After graduating from Ohio University, I cannot express how influential and memorable my time as a Bobcat student truly was, each and every year. I spent all four years at OU as a full-time student. I was heavily involved in extracurriculars, from student government to intramural sports. Taking full advantage of both the friendly, family-based community and culture led to immense growth, leadership development, and life long memories. Athens, Ohio is truly one of the most magical and incredible places! The people, the community, the staff and faculty, and the students are passionate about their Bobcat family and each other. Junior: The faculty at Otterbein University is amazing. The professors are passionate about teaching students so that they will succeed in whatever feild they go into. Otterbein also has so many opportunities for students to get involved. As a transfer student, finding a group to beling to at school was a little difficult at first. Staff members went out of their way to help me get involved! I came from a predominately online based university, so learning in person is also one of the perks for me. Sophomore: The University of Findlay is a great place to focus on school and make friends. There are very few distractions and it is a great school centered around athletics and since there are a great deal of student athletes many of them are intertwined through their respective sports and therefore have people to aid them in their studies as well. They also have a great staff who are dedicated to helping their students and ensuring a proper education. Not only this, but they are willing and happy to give you advice outside of school as well. Senior: Wilmington College is a small private school, allowing students to have personal connections with the staff and students that are around the campus. Students have a more opportunities to be involved in groups and not feel overwhelmed by a bunch of people being in one area at once. Wilmington College does a fine job at keeping the students all on the same page as to new events happening around campus and great new ways to be involved. Some changes I would like to see happen is that for many of the sciences there are not many opportunities when it comes to experiencing the science fields outside of the college campus. Junior: I chose Hocking College because I wanted to pursue a career in woodworking. Fortunately, the college offers a major in Cabinetry & Architectural Millwork which fits the bill very well. The college has mixed performance when it comes to their financial aid department, sometimes being unclear and difficult to communicate with, but the overall tuition is low on average across the board. They offer quality dorms (on & off campus), even allowing students who apply quickly when spots open up to move into single rooms and avoid having to share their living space. The advisors do a good job of helping us students plan a schedule based on our availability and semester-credit requirements as well. I would like to see the financial aid department improve, along with how the college handles the honor society PTK, but I think these are minor issues since they can be tackled without much fuss....
