Freshman: I love the atmosphere here! Everyone is friendly and I really like my professors. Theatre and English are my favorites. The books for classes are so interesting and how our classes and assignments go are pretty interesting and engaging. I wish they had a program to help with books and main supplies. They have been helping with food and some financial aid. But I really wish they could help with supplies, because that can really add up fast, especially since a lot of students have to work a lot to have enough for it. I love my campus though, the cafe and main cafeteria has many options and easy access to any information that I may need, the counseling and main mental health awareness is pretty good too, it has made school a lot easier!... Sophomore: Feather River College is a great community college to go to within California. It is best for in state students as the Promise Grant allows people to go there for free for the first two years but otherwise the tuition is not much. The campus culture could be more tolerant of minorities (there's no violence but there is bad talk) but is overall very accepting and welcoming. The teachers are very supportive and the class sizes are small and allow for a lot of one on one with the teachers. It is a great school and I advise others to go there if they can.... Sophomore: Easy to register, easy to enroll for classes and easy to access a counselor. The dashboard is easy to use when doing online courses. The programs and professors are very well qualified. Staff is very friendly when we need to speak to admissions, financial aid or business office. I completed my health care interpreting program back in May 2021. Now I am studying American Sign Language. This college has amazing majors and it is so easy to get through an education at this campus, whether its in person or online. Reedley College includes a Reedley Middle College program for students that want to get ready for college. This campus is very well structured with student's needs. It also includes support for disabled students that want to pursue their education. I am also proud of my college, because it includes an Adult Transition Program that helps kids obtain their diploma after completing a certificate in high school. Sophomore: You have to make the most of it! Go in with a clear mindset of what you want to accomplish and seek out the resources they have if you have questions. Spend some time in their student services building to figure out what they have to offer. I think many people don't realize how helpful some of their programs are! If you need help paying for classes, they have SO many options. There are so many programs that help you have specialized counselors, early enrollment dates, and free or reduced costs for classes. Sophomore: College of the Sequoias is easily one of the best community colleges in the central valley! I love how many campuses, from Hanford, Visalia, to Tulare, there's a diversity of people and classes. The campus is always big and well taken care of. The professors take care of their rooms with so much care and love. I love how invested professors are to their students, even during covid I was able to reach out to my professors a lot an they seemed to care so much about me and my education. Sophomore: The professors at MJC are fantastic! They want to help you succeed and do everything in their power to assist. They are very encouraging and guide students to create good study habits. Graduate Student: I attended VVC, since 2018 and was able to complete two degrees. The campus is full of helpful resources and so many programs to help you get through college comfortably. All programs had such great mentors and counselors that help you stay focused and confident in college. I found online courses such an amazing help, especially as a full time mommy and stay at home mother. I was able to study and do homework during the time that worked best for me.
