Graduate Student: There is no other university like it on the planet. The undergrad experience is fantastic--Stanford really makes sure to integrate first year students into campus life.
Stanford does everything well: academics, extracurriculars, social scene, sports, food, the arts, improv comedy(!), etc. You name it, Stanford does it and does it brilliantly. It even has the best weather!
And don't forget about the grad programs. They are outstanding across the board.

Junior: Being a student at the University of Southern California is like no other. The campus is beautiful and the academics are stellar. The whole school feels like one big family. The athletic programs are top notch and really bring all the students together. I love being able to attend countless games while seeing cheering fans who truly love where they go to school. The best part about the University of Southern California is the Trojan alumni. With over 425,000 Trojan alumni in the world, you are always connected to a Trojan. The wonderful Trojan alumni are there for you beyond your four years. They give opportunities to advance in your desired career field, as well as be there in a new environment. No other university is this connected between current students and alumni. I am proud to attend USC, where academics, athletics and alumni blend together making the ultimate college experience!

Alum: My overall experience at UC Berkeley was great! The classes are rigorous especially with being a STEM major. Most of the professors I had were accommodating especially those in the classes I had when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. The surrounding area of Berkeley is not the safest which was an area of concern during my 4 years of living there. Also, the food that is offered through student dining was not good so I would typically use meal points at the cafes on campus. My student life experience was amazing because I was heavily involved with a few organizations on campus which helped me connect with other like minded individuals.

Freshman: I absolutely love my school. I think its difficult to detail campus life since we all are doing our part to slow the spread of the virus on campus but i can say its a wonderful environment. I have amazing professors that do their best even virtually to help everyone. The food is also delicious! As someone who is vegan, I was nervous that there wouldn't be that many options but I was surprised to see an entire kitchen section specifically for vegan cuisine. UCI also has many resources that ensure we perform well, from free tutoring and counseling to online events for studying in groups and meeting new people. UCI truly cares deeply about its students and I haven't had a bad experience with my campus representative. I am so happy with my decision to choose UCI and encourage anyone who wants to have a quality education in a great college environment to do the same.

Junior: I love the friendly environment on the beautiful environment! Living on campus was a nice experience because they have dorms that are fairly close to the lecture halls. Some lecture halls weren't as clean as the newer ones, but they are advancing vary rapidly. I do have to say that my department, College of Engineering, is very competitive, but that is what I get for choosing an impacted department. Some professors are nicer than others, depending on the department. I do have to say that they have an extensive amount of resources available for every need, basic need, health, and academic. The advisors, depending on the department, are also aren't s helpful as you may think. I would advise to learn the current catalog for your major to know what classes are needed for graduation. Currently I admire the research that the university has been up to with the uncontrollable coronavirus. I love that they have testing sites that expedite the results to students, faculty, and other employees

Sophomore: The campus and students are very welcoming and interesting. My experience here exceeds all my expectations for a university that truly cares for its students, faculty and staff!
Through this coronavirus pandemic I, and my fellow students, have felt well cared for with multiple communications keeping us informed of the decision making process being developed to keep us safe, healthy and hopefully back to school in person, soon.
Thank you for this opportunity to share my experience.

Freshman: This college is great! They are so freshman oriented and work very hard to help incoming students adapt to college life. Also, the new dorms are great! It’s awesome to see colleges incorporating gender-inclusive areas to make all students, including those in the LGBTQ+ community, comfortable in their living spaces. Cal Poly’s “learn by doing” motto is taken to heart by the staff and faculty members, meaning students are truly encouraged to put themselves out there while incorporating their learning into life. The one complaint I have in the disorganization of the student portal. It’s pretty difficult to navigate if you’re not accustomed to using it.

Freshman: I may not have been able to achieve a full experience at San Diego State because of the pandemic with online classes. However, professors intend on ensuring that we are still cheerful on holding virtual events that motivate students to keep exceeding in academics. Something that I very much appreciate are general advisors and major advisors that guide you throughout your journey to complete all the graduation requirements. There is also many opportunities that are presented a lot of the times, which is something important to take advantage of -- experiences that you won't forget!

Freshman: My overall experience UCR has been great! The education the university provides helps me feel like everything has been handed out to me for success. In order for me to obtain it is to work very hard. The professors I’ve had this past year has been one of my best teachers I’ve had in education, and I’ve had no complaints about them. One of the best things about UCR is it’s campus and it’s students. The campus renovations and students make me feel like UCR is really home and is a college that is expanding to further boast its success.

Alum: You can definitely feel the small-town vibes of this university. Everyone knows everyone and professors from your freshman year remember your name when they see you at graduation. Since it's a relatively new UC, all the buildings are state-of-the art and overall campus is quite nice, especially with the 2020 project finishing up. Dorms are pretty spacious too and the students keep it pretty clean.
Education-wise, a lot of professors there are young and have a lot of experience to gain, and there is a heavy reliance on TAs, especially for SSHA, to the point that TAs are the primary instructors of upper div classes. However, there is A LOT of research opportunities and professors are always available outside of class to help. You can have an on-par education if you put in just a little more effort than just going to class and doing the bare minimum work to pass.
Our sports teams are quite good and plenty of clubs/orgs to join to keep you busy! Oh and the parties are HELLA LIT.

Humboldt State University

Alum: Being a Wildlife Conservation and Management student at HSU was a wonderful experience for me. I graduated in 2016 so there may have been changes in the program since then, but I felt the program to in-depth and engaging! All of the faculty was amazing, classes were fun and challenging, the science community on campus was supportive and welcoming. I especially loved the lab portion of class and spending times in the beautiful natural landscapes Arcata and Humboldt County have to offer. I really like going to a smaller university and being able to form lasting connections with my professors and peers. Nothing beats being able to study what you are passionate about while being surrounded by gorgeous Redwood Forests and The Arcata Marsh. Smaller campus, small university and smaller town than many of the big UC's and other Cal State's but it makes for a cozy, charming town where you see someone you know around every corner.
