Senior: I think a lot of great professors are taken for granted, by faculty and by students (including myself at one point). I had an amazing time with the research opportunity I had, but I think they should talk more about those opportunities because students are left in the dark. I was able to find it because of another student. I applied to the work and study program for 2 consecutive years and they never contacted me. I even went to the library for 2 weeks, almost everyday, because I was trying to get on a list for a job, and they kept telling me to come back later, until the last day when they told me they had just sent the list and I couldn't get on it. I don't think it's a bad university, but just keep in mind the students have to stay on top of things and insist on what they want/need. The Department of Natural Sciences is particularly noteworthy, offering unique courses and exclusive bachelor's programs, such as Marine Biology, not found elsewhere on the island. However, there's room for improvement in maintaining the campus infrastructure. Despite this, the academic experience at UPRH is unparalleled. Sophomore: From my experience as a student at this institution, it's an excellent place to study. The campus is filled with trees and vegetation which gives it a very nice atmosphere. Personally, that's one of my favorite traits of this college. The student community is very nice and are always willing to help. There are a good variety of associations for you to join no matter your major. Unfortunately, if you want to join a sports team there's only a few choices. Just like any other institution, there's good professor and the ones that give you a hard time, but don't let that stop you from achieving your dreams. Alum: In my time in that university, I know that I had a superb experience in it. It may be not the biggest or most popular of all the UPRs' in all of Puerto Rico, but what it lacks on lots of structures it compensates in the wonderful ambiance that the place has.
