Sophomore: I completed my first year at Rose-Hulman during the 2022-2023 academic year. Overall, it was a great experience. Rose is a smaller college with a tight-knit community. The academics are engineering-focused and challenging. There are three 10-week quarters each year with an additional 11th week of final exams at the end of each one, as well as an online-only summer quarter. This means the classes are fast-paced, but resources like professor office hours and the Learning Center tutoring program make it doable. Junior: I have been enjoying my time at Taylor University. The professors are fantastic! They are fun, personable, knowledgeable, kind, caring and very helpful. The community is also very fun, as the students enjoy creating their own fun and we have quite a few traditions in each hall. A suggestion for improvement would be better communication between the administration and the students. Alum: I really loved my time at Goshen! It has a very small college feel, and so you get to know or recognize most people around campus. Also, class sizes are small so you really get to know and interact with your professors on a personal level. Beyond that Goshen has many great opportunities for students. There is their SST study abroad program, Sustainability Leadership Semester, tons of unique May Term class, Agricultural Summer Intensive, and Marine Biology Semester. These are experiences that you won’t find at most other universities. Lastly, Goshen itself is a cute little town with lots of really good food options, including Goshen Brewing Company. Sophomore: Overall my experience at Grace College has been positive. Some of the great things about Grace College is the size, since the college is so small the community between all my fellow students is amazing because you get to know one another very well. The size also affects your relationships with your professors because your classes are smaller and this allows for professors to know you really well. In my eyes, this adds to the positive relationship aspect of Grace College overall. Another amazing aspect of Grace is the variety of classes and majors that allow you to explore many different opportunities.
