Graduate Student: I achieved an Office Assistant Certificate from BTC in 1998. The program included: basic math and English, written and oral communication, accounting, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and FrontPage, Internet research, typing and 10-key, resume writing and interviewing. I felt the program did an excellent job preparing me to start my career as an Administrative Assistant. The teachers presented clearly and answered questions. The facility was clean and functional. I used the library for research. The cafeteria was nice. BTC held Job Fairs and other events to help students get in front of potential employers before the end of the course. I was able to get a Pell Grant to cover tuition and books. College is a lot of work but this was a very hands-on and focused curriculum to get me prepared for work. Freshman: Wonderful school with amazing advisors and financial aid staff who will walk you through the entire process of gathering financial aid, enrollment, course and class selection and offer tons of other types of support throughout the year! Freshman: My experience at Tacoma Community College has been amazing. The amount of resources and help they give their students there would be no reason for me not to graduate transfer or graduate. The professors that I've had the pleasure of attending their courses have been absolutely amazing and they instill confidence in their students. Graduate Student: My Skagit Valley College as a Running Start student was overall a good experience. I had many great professors, who always emphasized the fact that we’re willing to help us all. They were very kind and considerate. My PE professor even helped me on my graduation application process! My college counselor was less than helpful, but thankfully my Education and PE professors stepped in. The programs and diversity was great. My only complaint would be my college counselor, she would reply to my emails very late, sometimes months later. Sophomore: I began my college career with Centralia College, being a part of the Running Start program. This program allowed high school students to attend CC for free, and have a "running start" on their future. I love the atmosphere of this school, and nearly all of the professors and staff are helpful and caring. At Centralia College, you'll seldom find a professor unwilling to provide students the tools they need for success. There is a very active sense of community in the school, and with the activities the campus provides for, there's rarely a dull day. Overall, there isn't much I would change. The only thing that could be improved is the technological aspects of CC. Freshman: Columbia Basin College is a great college to go to because there is so much to offer. There are many community events available to the public and ongoing students! Some include pumpkin painting, trivia nights, guest speakers, blood drives, and, there is going to be an upcoming fall festival, which invites local vendors to come sell their items and many other activities that will be offered to students.
