Alum: A decent and affordable community college. Classes seem to be fast paced for those looking to spend full time and attention on their academic studies. I loved my teachers here, they were all very helpful and kind in answering questions, helping with work, and excusing absences. I attended this college twice, once for the CNA program, and one for the EMT program. I liked the hands on activity provided in the CNA program, and as a class we spend majority of our time with this and not in our books for 2 hours. I was able to complete this program while in high school as part of my school day. Overall, only a couple people did not pass the class. I loved the set up of this, and the way the bar is set high. Sophomore: My overall experience with century college has been really great. I was at first at Normandale community college but then I transferred to Century College because it is much closer to my home. Since then, the commute has been great too! At Century, all of the professors are super helpful and there are always different resources for all students that attends century college. When I first joined Century, I was a bit scared and nervous, because I was new there, but eventually I got used to it. The people who goes there are all so sweet and nice. I have not yet experienced any discrimination and that is something that I am super grateful for because that is something that I am always afraid of. Alum: Really great college atmosphere in a fantastic Northwoods town. The instructors that I had were very invested in their fields of study as well as making sure students understood and could apply the information being taught. They were interested in teaching students and made classes interesting and relevant. Excellent field experiences! The support staff at Vermilion were also very helpful and took time to provide extra assistance when needed. The town of Ely while small and remote has a lot to do in and around town. Plus at the doorstep of several State and National Parks.
