Alum: Definitely do a campus tour first before you commit to a school, because this school. WOW. Caught my eye and I felt like I could see myself getting my degree here in four years. The campus itself is amazing, and is easily maneuverable if you find yourself late for class. Also a great place to go if you are from Hawaii. Many of my friends were from Hawaii and it just made easing into college way easier. I did not feel like I have left home at all. All the professors are great and they all have their own personalities which make classes all the more fun to attend. Junior: I like that the school is small. This allows smaller class size and more interaction with the instructors (5:1 student to instruction ratio). I am very curious about the courses I need to take to complete my psychology degree (also wondering if I should add a minor). Senior: Overall my experience at Southern Oregon University was successful. I, along with many other students who attend Southern Oregon University was a transfer student. I really enjoyed the small-town mountain vibes, but it was very hard to adjust. Once you come to terms with the fact that this is not the typical state school and college environment, it starts to get better. My faculty and professors have always been very kind and respectful, not just me, but to everyone in my classes. The school has some administrative issues that often get in the way of students being successful. This school really has the opportunity to be something special and is gaining popularity quickly. Alum: I graduated from RCC in 2018, with an associates in psychology and an associates in business. During my time there, I was the Diversity Coordinator in student government, the President of the Rainbow Club, and I worked in both the student services office and the library.
