Freshman: I believe that the University of Delaware is a 4/5 star school for many reasons! First and foremost, UD has a strong academic program. The professors are knowledgeable and engaging, and the course offerings are diverse and relevant. The school also has a number of resources available to help students succeed, including tutoring services, study groups, and writing centers. In addition to academics, UD has a vibrant campus life. There are a plethora of clubs and organizations to get involved in, as well as sporting events, concerts, and other social activities. The school is located in a beautiful and historic town, which provides plenty of opportunities for exploration and enjoyment. Despite these positives, the food on campus can be a bit of a disappointment. While there are a few dining options that are decent, many of the options are overpriced and not particularly tasty. Alum: I joined Delaware State University as a transfer student in the fall of 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. During my time there I learned quite a bit regarding the efficiency of their departments. I had a lot of difficulty reaching specific individuals regarding my transfer credits and how to proceed with my required courses. After the initial confusion, I was set on a path toward success. The professors were excellent! They all thoroughly taught course material, most taking the time to answer questions throughout their lectures. Freshman: After deciding Delaware Tech. Community College is my ideal fit, I moved shortly after my high school graduation. I'm the first in my family to attend college, therefor I tend to generate a lot of questions. The staff in all departments have been very understanding of this. From providing information, giving great advice, or directing me across campus. Students are part of the staff as well. Which I think is a great way to create a welcoming atmosphere where you feel excited, and confident in taking your next step. I'll be starting classes soon and can't wait to get the full experience as a student. The small class sizes, online courses, friendly community and the resources available.
