Sophomore: I really enjoy their focus on the arts. There are four MState campuses, and Fergus Falls is the one with the focus on the arts. I have seen a lot of high schools loosing their fine arts programs because of money issues or because they want to put funding into sports. I think that more money should be put into fine arts. Niche User: ​​Northland is an amazing small college located in north Minnesota. Through my time there I've been able to connect with many teachers and create connections to improve my academics. Every professor has been extremely helpful and always willing to help you if need be. The college is the perfect size for anyone looking for a small college. There aren't many sporting events to attend, but the town makes up for it by hosting a variety of events throughout the year. Alum: A decent and affordable community college. Classes seem to be fast paced for those looking to spend full time and attention on their academic studies. I loved my teachers here, they were all very helpful and kind in answering questions, helping with work, and excusing absences. I attended this college twice, once for the CNA program, and one for the EMT program. I liked the hands on activity provided in the CNA program, and as a class we spend majority of our time with this and not in our books for 2 hours. I was able to complete this program while in high school as part of my school day. Overall, only a couple people did not pass the class. I loved the set up of this, and the way the bar is set high. Senior: It is easy to apply and get into! The downfall is that there is not alot of people to help show you around the school and get access to the computers, printers etc. The teachers are awesome. They are 'people' like us. They do not treat you like a student. They give you their personal phone numbers incase you have any questions. Sophomore: I'm in the finance program and my professors are also heads of the department. They are two incredibly qualified people that know what they're doing and I am glad to know that I am getting a quality education from them. My general ed professors have also been very kind and understanding with requiring extensions for circumstances, and although I do not know the extent to their knowledge on things, I can attest that they are very passionate over what they do. My favorite class of all was on Communication, as it got down to the very core of realizing that all things are done through vulnerability, and the class discussions shared were highly personal on understanding each and every one of us. Sophomore: Lake Superior College has an amazing faculty. I have yet to run into any issues with them as I did at a prior community college. The professors are all engaging, and fair, and some can be lenient if you give them a heads up that something is going on. Not only that, a lot of their programs are 100% online, so international students can enjoy what the college has to offer! Right now, I am taking the web and computer programming degree path which has been an experience like no other.
