Senior: I can't imagine another other school giving me the education, experiences, and opportunities that RPI has. The professors have so much knowledge and really push students to learn, rather than just pass. I was able to get involved in Greek life, student government, and a few professional groups. It's really easy to find someplace to fit in because RPI has a wide spectrum of people. I was always much further ahead in job/internship searching than anyone else I knew in my major at other schools.
On-campus life could use a bit of a housing update but RPI's been updating one building at a time for the past few years and dining has gotten exponentially better. Parties are not what they used to be but if you look hard enough, you'll find them. Troy has also improved a ton over the past few years! There are so many great small businesses and food options.
Definitely be prepared to push yourself but it'll be worth it.

Junior: I really enjoy being a student at Union College because of the people.
Small community: welcoming, actively becoming more diverse, environment enables personal and professional growth, easy to be involved
Trimesters: useful for staying organized when everyone knows which week it is (x/10) and it makes studying abroad more flexible.
Disability services: A+, all of my professors have been accommodating.
Schenectady: good location (burst the campus bubble to visit the weekly farmer's market or walk downtown, get home during breaks from the new Amtrak station 5 min from campus, volunteer through Union's Kenny Center)
School pride: yes! Especially during hockey season
Friends: the best. lifelong. unique backgrounds
ResLife: old furniture, fun people (s/o to West College 3rd floor!)
Becker Career Center: great! Staff will go above and beyond to help you
Weekends: not always enough to do; parties 3-4 nights/week
Greek Life: big presence on campus; it's there if you want it

Freshman: Great school and campus! The professors are welcoming and informative. Campus life style is relaxing, friendly and competitive as the same time. Student housing for freshman is fantastic. We are living in quad rooms with private bathroom. Albany is a big and diverse school but it is a perfect opportunity to meet and greet other students. Security seems to be a very important aspect and noticeable component on campus. I feel safe and comfortable in my new environment.
