Senior: Fantastic experience thus far. I have transferred from a lackluster institution and Purdue blows it out of the water. Academics within the Polytechnic Institute have been both challenging but rewarding to pursue by yourself--or better yet with others! Campus is beautiful and is rapidly expanding upon but more housing is needed on campus and by West Lafayette (thankfully downtown Lafayette is a great off campus place to be). Opportunities no joke pop up everyday due to the connections and reputation has for its students. And nearly everyone is both kind and helpful in every aspect of your academic career. Freshman: Since I moved into my dorm room on campus in August, I have felt nothing but welcomed and encouraged! Senior: I have had a wonderful experience here. I attended a very large school right out of high school and ended up transferring after two years to PFW. Smaller class sizes have been super beneficial for me, and I feel like I have gotten to know my professors and classmates in a way I wasn't able to at other schools. The psychology program specifically has so many great opportunities for research, internships, and classes that offer real-world experience. The campus is a perfect size and I have really enjoyed my time here. Getting a Purdue degree at a smaller and more affordable campus is also a great aspect of PFW! Sophomore: I love my experience at Ivy Tech! The staff is very helpful and truly want you to be successful. And they are pretty cheap. I would definitely recommend Ivy Tech whether you choose to get your bachelor's or not. They offer cheap classes, flexible scheduling, and it is a pretty safe campus downtown. The security staff make an effort to make you feel safe and welcome as well as keep you up-to-date on how to stay safe through emails and posters. Junior: I love Indiana State, when I was in high school, I dreaded going to school every day and spending hours and hours doing homework after school, but at Indiana state the teachers and staff are so kind and have always worked well with my schedule to help me succeed in my classes. It is so nice to have the luxury of smaller classes so you can have that one on one with your professors. It is a beautiful campus with plenty of places to sit down and do your schoolwork. Freshman: I am going into my second semester of my freshman year at VU, and so far I have loved it! The professors are so helpful and extremely welcoming. They always get back to me fast with any questions I may have, and the same goes for any advisors I have spoken to and the financial aid office as well! I was as nervous as any other incoming college freshman would be, but the overall environment of this school makes you feel very comfortable and welcome. The food on campus is surprisingly really good! There are also call booths around campus that are easily accessible if you ever feel that you are in danger, and I know that safety is a big concern when going to college.
