Sophomore: My experience at Virginia State University has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. My college feels like my home away from home. I selected a Historically Black College/University to experience something different. It is wonderful to see many young adults of African American descent with common goals, values and beliefs pursuing their dreams. The faculty and staff are very professional and provide challenging and engaging class experiences. I am learning so much about my selected major and future career. Faculty and advisors provided meaningful guidance to students. As an athlete, the coaching staff is well trained and provide additional mentoring and direction to young athletes. The Sport programs are balanced with providing students with scheduled study time, academic guidance and community service opportunities.
