Freshman: University of Pittsburgh is a great school with many diverse tools students can utilize to get the best out of their time here. From a wide range of studies to a vast option of clubs, University of Pittsburgh allows students to instantly feel connected to the school. In addition, the University of Pittsburgh has fantastic resources especially for Pre-Health related careers. With the UPMC building nearby, you can obtain your medical hours right on campus! You can easily contact a faculty member within the Pre-Health department to discuss the best academic path for you. The campus holds a variety of recreational spots including restaurants, museums, and cafes to study at. However, in the future, I hope to see the university improve their communication with their students regarding Panther Central. Senior: I LOVE Temple University! Most of my professors have been nice, fair, knowledgeable and even passionate about what they teach. Temple has a gym on campus, which offers group fitness classes including yoga, cycling, and meditation, included in tuition fees. The healthcare I received on campus has always been stellar. The Disability Resource Services offered have been stellar, and the 24-hour TECH Center is a pleasure to spend days in while studying and working on projects. Temple has an app now where you can request a chaperoned walk home in person or virtually, as well as a nightly shuttle that circulates around the edges of campus for those in off-campus housing. Our Marching Band was one of my favorite extra curriculars offering an annual stipend when you join and you get to perform synchronized dances to pop songs at home games on Philly Eagles turf at the LINC. Alum: Loved my experience at SU! It's such a homey place, with lots of extra curricular options and autonomy in path of study. The power levels are not far apart, the university president is a casual, supportive face you see on campus frequently. The norm established of everyone studying abroad and taking GO classes enhance the entire community's cultural knowledge and appreciation. I will say that living on campus for 4 years and therefore having expensive dining plans made it more expensive, although the food was decent. I love that the school values global citizenship and the environment (hello, solar field). I do wish Susquehanna did better to educate students and community about and honor the indigenous people the school and river it sits near are named after. Other: I am an incoming freshman for the 2023/24 year. I toured many colleges in the North East Region but decided on ESU for several reasons. From my first visit I knew I was home but held off making my decision for a few weeks. The accepted student day and the orientation on June 6th confirmed my decision. Freshman: I have had a wonderful experience so far at college, though it has only been a semester so far. The faculty are very helpful and they want you to succeed, and the students are very welcoming of new students. There have been some issues with the dining services due to a lack of workers in our Fall 2022 semester, but the issue was mostly resolved by the school. Like any school, there will be some negatives, but they do address these negatives and try to fix them when the students bring them to the school's attention. And for those looking for a party scene, there really isn't a big one on campus unless you know where to look. Another thing to know is that there is diversity on campus, but not enough to push it away from being a predominantly white institution. However, the school does try to be accommodating to students of all religions, races/ethnicities, and backgrounds. Junior: PennWest Edinboro has an absolutely amazing graphic design program. The professors are kind and knowledgeable and are truly dedicated to helping you grow as a graphic designer. I transferred here in the Fall of 2022, and so far my experience with my professors has been great. However, the administration at Edinboro leaves a lot to be desired. As a transfer student I was hoping to have some resources given to me to make my transition easier. This was not the case. No one from the transfer department has reached out to help me. This is especially frustrating, as I did not have a smooth move from community college to Edinboro. I am still struggling to sort out credit issues! The only helpful person thus far in administration has been the chair of the art department. The PennWest merger has also brought challenges to Edinboro that have not been adequately addressed. Senior: I am in Pedas a lot on campus. It is a newer and upkept building. Admissions students working there are always nice and will help you. The facility there is almost perfect too. Prof. Humphrey is energetic, sweet, and made my creativity and passion blossom. He gets stuff done in Pedas, which we need. Prof. Lana (Kulik) is someone everyone wants to be. She forces you to learn. Super intelligent and always tries to see both sides of things. Staff Jacob Clark has grown so much at his time here at Thiel. I hope he continues to do so. I wish he could do more here. Staff Paul Coatsworth has taught me more than anyone at this college. He is the most experienced, so he makes a great leader and mentor. He also has pushed for the necessary upgrades in Pedas and helps everyone master the equipment. (On that note, check out our new podcast room! It's pretty cool and open to anyone!) Freshman: What I love about keystone college is how nice and small the campus is. You can get from class and around the campus pretty fast and easy. I love how involved the students are and how friendly everyone is it’s easy to make friends around campus even the staff does a great job making you feel safe and wanted on campus. Baseball program is one of the top programs you can come play for in the country with great coaching staff, players and a beautiful baseball field. Things I would like to see change at keystone is helping the campus grow a little bigger get more students and add a few buildings to give it a little more of better scenery I think it’ll attract more students and have more interactions. Junior: I love the community at Grove City College! Everyone is extremely welcoming and encouraging! I am also very thankful for the many resources made available to me here at the college which prompt me to succeed in my academic career. Additionally, I really appreciate the availability of the professors to meet with me one on one if I have any questions about their class. There are so many opportunities made available to students through the college such as numerous clubs/organizations to join, student-led short-term mission trips (ICO trips), and Bible studies/worship events around campus!
