Graduate Student: Studying at UNC Chapel Hill is a great privilege, still with room for growth. This review is specific to my experience as a master's student in the School of Social Work (with in-person, hybrid, and virtual classes). My pro's & con's center on 2 topics: Quality mentorship: The primary reason I came to CH is because of the quality mentorship from faculty & staff. Compared to my previous experiences, this school offered the perfect combination of expertise in what I hoped to learn along with supportive mentors. An area for growth is the lack of regular advising in the 3-year MSW Program. Diverse connections: The fact that the school is comprised of students, staff, faculty, and community members from a variety of diverse backgrounds is its greatest strength. This creates a learning experience much greater than what can be curated by any one group. Every interaction is a learning experience! Freshman: My experience at Johnston Community College has been great so far. The Professors are friendly to everyone and understand if you're having a hard time learning the material. Freshman: When I applied for Wake Tech, the team there was super flexible and willing to help me out on my educational prowess and my goals after graduation. Sophomore: Durhamtech is obviously the best community college one could attend! I love Durhamtech for so many reasons. This is a diversed environment therefore, everyone feels safe and welcomed regardless of where you come from. Durhamtech is great academically, students find it easy taking classes at Durhamtech because it's just not comlpicated. The instructors are very open for questions and provide extra help outside the classroom. The resources of the school are available for all the students to access. The academic advisors are very helpful, there's a variety of them and they are just always available to guide and advise students as they should. The library is also a very helpful resource for students, we really feel the back up. Some changes I would like to see would be that the school needs to improve in terms of the offices services.
