Junior: I am a transfer student athlete and am planning to attend Dartmouth in the fall. What I loved on my visit was the family atmosphere amongst the faculty and the close relationships they had with their students. I believe that it is important to put an emphasis on undergraduate education and Dartmouth does that the best in comparison to any other school in the nation. From an athletic standpoint I feel like Dartmouth has all the tools and facilities to help me achieve my athletic goals. Coming from an institution that gives athletic scholarships, Ivy leagues do not have that availability. Senior: I love the on campus restaurants, bars, and snack shops! The scenery is beautiful all year round and the campus is always beautiful! The theater department hosts a lot of fun shows year round including dances, shows, and concerts which makes it easy to always stay entertained. I have had great encounters with all my professors, Deans, and advisors, who have provided a lot of help through the years. Sophomore: I transferred to KSC from another NH public college and have enjoyed Keene so much more. The people are so friendly, it's easy to get involved on campus, everyone is extremely welcoming and the community here is incredible. Campus is gorgeous especially in the spring and they just announced a ton of new renovations coming for next fall. The dorms are pretty average but some are really nice (Butler, LLC). I've enjoyed all the classes I've taken and met some great profs. The only bad thing I think is the food but there are options at Lloyd's and the Hoot and Scoot that are better and overall a good variety if you don't like the dining commons food. Sophomore: I really love Plymouth State University, it truly is a home away from home! I met many great people and new lifelong friends, especially my amazing roommate! I was initially very nervous about going to a new place, especially a college, but living on campus is a fantastic experience. One I'll truly never forget, there are many great activities to participate in such as the hammocking club. SOAR (outdoor activities), PSU gaming club, intermural sports, Esports, and so much more! Not to mention their fitness facilities are state of the art along with a robotics lab is getting put in! Plymouth State truly is a fantastic place, especially within the Criminal Justice and Forensic. The only thing that would be nice to change is the parking situation since Plymouth is remote, parking is very difficult at times. Freshman: First thing I can think of would be the professors. At least the ones I have for my first semester here. The professors actually convince me that teachers might have lives outside of the classroom! Jokes aside, they are pretty interesting. My composition professor is probably the most interesting person I’ve met, but I was born and raised in Florida, so maybe that doesn’t give much. Another thing I like is the fact that this school actually has small sized classes. NEC only has one lecture hall, and it’s never entirely full. I like this because it allows students to actually build connections with classmates and faculty. The professors here actually know you by name, and it feels like everything is more on equal grounds rather than the professors having a major sense of authority. I’m not sure if this is all professors and staff, but it has been my experience so far. Another cool thing would have to be the tutoring program! It’s free, and helpful.
