Senior: I absolutely love RIT! Although primarily a tech school, there are so many unique people and personalities that attend, proving that everybody will find their people here, no matter who you are. Additionally, there are so many programs to choose from, and many have notable alum within the department. For example, our College of Art and Design is best known for their successful photography programs and film and animation. There are so many ways to get involved in clubs and organizations! From athletics to greek life, gaming clubs, and many more. There is something for everybody. Also, RIT's co-op program makes it one of the best options for students who are career-driven. Having the opportunity to partake in 2 (or more) paid internships while still in college helps pave the way for the future and helps them put their best foot forward when looking for a job post-grad. Sophomore: Overall I liked QCC. They have lots of free programs to help students in STEM. There are opportunities for undergraduate research, on campus jobs, and free tutoring. Some clubs are good like the robotics club, but some are also bad. We had play with 4 puppies, pizza, and a carnival like event during a club once. The social life is what you make of it. QCC really helps to create a community and the campus is beautiful. I enjoyed most of my time in college and can’t wait to graduate debt free! Some advice - take classes at QCC while in high school or use CLEP and AP exams. You can accelerate your degree and save money or time. Also, summer STEM classes have their tuition waived for one class. Whichever CUNY you choose to go to, remember that you can always “epermit” a class at another CUNY. I used an epermit for a class at Queens College. I like QCC’s smaller classes. You get more help and guidance from professors. Most are nice and lenient. Rate my professor will be a lifesaver.... Alum: There are so many opportunities for growth, wonderful and knowledgeable professors, a great sense of community, and exceptional facilities and resources. The Science Tutorial was my best resource for improving my grades. All profs offered office hrs and ensured their students do well. WCC offers refunds on dropped classes before a certain date. Take advantage if the class or professor doesn’t align with them. Take time to read testimonials of your professors before signing up for their class. I am still in contact with many of my professors and they have given me support and encouragement through my current career. It’s a great feeling to know they still want to see you succeed even after you leave the classroom. Diversity on campus is lively! WCC is a large commuter school including HS grads, transfers, and grad students. Pool offered open swim hrs which were fun to go to in between classes. Student life is what you make of it. Freshman: This college is good for people looking to save money but still get all of the required classes done so they can succeed with their full potential at other colleges. Overall the college remains clean and there are great people to connect with if you can approach and talk with people. The food is ok in the cafeteria but i would recommend against it most of the time unless you are trying to stay on campus. The classes are small most of the time and are better if you go in person rather than online learning, the online learning feels disconnected and is not easy to get things fixed in a timely manner when you run into issues online. In person the professors are really nice and easy to get along with while helping you reach your goals. Overall the environment at the north campus is great except for the outdated areas of the campus with a lot of construction going on most of the time so they can get everything updated. Junior: Delhi has an extremely small student body, which creates an environment with small class sizes. This allows for students to get a more intimate educational experience, and assists in building relationships with faculty, peers, and anyone else who contributes to the SUNY Delhi culture. One thing I would like to see change in Delhi is more student involvement in athletics and larger student sections. Athletics is often looked down on by professors, and is disregarded and dismissed. Senior: I was immediately attracted to Alfred State the moment I stepped onto campus for its size. It is small but not too small. The class sizes are perfect. The professors are able to give you more personal attention than a lot of friends receive at other colleges. The professors at Alfred State want you to succeed and will help you achieve your goals. The support of my professors has given me more confidence in myself. There is always something to do at Alfred State. Fall and football is my favorite time of year. The team seems to unite the entire campus. There are many sports teams, clubs and general campus activities to participate in to meet new people and develop new friendships. Freshman: I came to Rockland Community College as a reverse transfer student after bad experiences at my previous 4-year university - and I could not be happier! I was instantly accepted by everyone, and the students are very supportive of one another. I have never met such an inclusive and diverse group of people. For a community college, I believe that the education I have received so far has been superb. Freshman: I'm an incoming Freshman at Hudson Valley Community College, starting later this month. I visited the school out of curiosity for their new Welding Technologies associate degree program. I found the campus and all the services offered to be great. The Welding lab, including the Virtual Welding equipment was excellent and well set up. By the end of my visit, I knew that I wanted to attend this school and I applied immediately. I will be able to really increase my welding skills and be better prepared for my career. The college made the application and registration process very easy, with most things taken care of online or by email. This helped tremendously since I have a full-time job and wasn't able to visit or call the school during my workday. Freshman: As someone who attends the Niagara Falls Culinary Insititute campus, I have absolutely fallen in love with the school and become obsessed with all my classes. I always feared that there wasn't an education available to me quite like the Culinary Institute of America, but I feel as though NFCI achieves all that and more. For one, all the equipment and classrooms are brand new, always tidy and organized- making it the perfect area to learn. All the chefs are very knowledgeable, no matter their specialization- and I have never learned so much from such a small group of people before. The small class sizes make it extremely easy for one on one conversation with teachers and classmates, as well as problem solving when necessary. Senior: I chose to slowly work my way through all required classes on a part-time basis to pursue my degree program. This involved prerequisite and corequisite courses via various class styles, including online, hybrid, and in-person. My experience at Cayuga surrounding the trialing times of the COVID pandemic was something to adjust to but overall very positive. Many of the professors at this college were incredibly knowledgeable and supportive along my academic journey. Being part of a very intense program, I am proud of the work I have accomplished so far and look forward to graduating in May of this year. I am hopeful that in the future the number of students active on the Fulton campus will increase and I believe that targeting events for non-traditional students will be beneficial in that endeavor. Alum: I loved this college. I made so many friends here and the teachers were great! It was so much fun. They had plenty of clubs/organizations to join and they also had lots of fun days where you could get free stuff. I like the vending machines/food. The size of the campus was the perfect size. I spent a lot of time outside, in the lounge area, and at the library. There were great resources. Location was nice because it is near Taco Bell, Panera, the mall, etc. The parking was nice too. Freshman: SUNY Onondaga Community College is an exceptional and affordable well trusted school open for the community. The year of 2022 during the fall semester I was a high school senior who was apart of the early college program.
