Freshman: My experience at Narional has been good overall! The classes are set at a really good pace. The professors are super helpful and invested in the students. The only feedback for change that I have is the administration/financial aid side of things is kind of tricky once you are a student. I’ve been at National for 7 months now and still haven’t received my financial aid. Granted the school hasn’t been demanding I pay for my classes right now, I just have Large bill. And advisors don’t know much about that. They did just recently do something where they cross trained the admin team so that they are able to help with everything so that should be really helpful. Senior: I really enjoy my university! The student to professor ratio is small which is perfect for getting to know your professors one-on-one and asking for help. There are also many resources available on campus for various things from career services to therapy counseling. I have held three on-campus jobs and I have enjoyed them all. My supervisors were super understanding of my course load and would allow me to plan my work schedule around that. I am also involved in a sorority on campus as well as a couple clubs which has made my college experience that much better. As a STEM student, I did not think I would have enough time for fun and leisure, but joining organizations on campus has helped me make that time for myself and it has been great. Sophomore: I loved the stem tutoring center and the free snacks available in the cafeteria. Staff including library and especially professors are very helpful and kind. You definitely have to advocate for yourself but I’m sure you do at other community colleges and universities. There aren’t many sports but there’s a ton of clubs to choose from. There are many other programs at miracosta such as accommodations for student learning, an honors society, transfer center and more. The counselors are great and are really helpful with financial aid, picking classes, and scholarships. I have definitely learned a lot and am excited to learn more going into my second year. Junior: Vanguard University provides students with exceptional support. With every upcoming semester every major meets in some form with their individual advisors allowing there to be opportunities for any questions/concerns. The advisors make sure that every student is on track for their intended graduation date. Professors/staff are also really open about providing students with the necessary help. There is a great loving and close knit community on campus which allows students to enjoy their time there. Vanguard University also provides students with food resources/clothing resources as well as emotional support resources if students are in need of them. Commuters however, may have a difficult time getting involved due to the event dates and traveling time. Due to this fact, Vanguard is always open to improving the school and the events occurring which is why they provide students with the opportunity to offer feedback at the end of each semester. Senior: My overall experience at Cal State Dominguez Hills has been fantastic! I am a first generation student about to achieve my dream of getting my Bachelor's degree and I am so happy I will be getting it from CSUDH! The professors are super helpful and incredibly smart. The Loker student union has some amazing activities for students to pass the time or relax until another class starts. There are board games, tv's and even a pool table! The parking is plenty, just expensive for a semester parking permit (over 200$) The bookstore is well organized and have lots of snacks. I do wish they had more food options but the options they do have are delicious. Finally I love how small the campus is! It makes it easier to connect with professors and it is much easier to make friends especially if you're in the same major. Junior: Numerous chances and experiences available at Pacific Union College can significantly impact a person's life. Junior: I'm an online student, but even though I'm not on campus, I feel very much a part of the school. It's about a two hour drive, so I was able to go and visit and attend some events on campus and felt so comfortable and welcome there. The professors are very available and present in the online forum and are ready to answer questions and just pray over each individual. The success coach is awesome and I feel so supported, encouraged and lifted up. The education received is at such a high standard as well and I feel ready to go into my career with the tools and skills I need. Freshman: Overall I want to say that I am very impressed with this school! I feel like I fit in with the other students where creating art is concerned! However, I am a little disappointed in the way this school treats transgender students. My best friend is transgender and she has deal with being dead named constantly by her professors. She has tried to correct them a countless amount of time for this, but to no avail. She said that only her French teacher used her correct pronouns and name, which is saying a lot since she has been in this school for over a year and the majority of her teachers misgender her. Personally, I would like there to be a little more understanding and respect towards LGBTQA+ students. Senior: This is a great school if you’re looking for right away hands on experience. The first class or couple classes you are already working with equipment and being put in scenarios that will benefit you in the industry. You take these hands on classes while also getting your general Ed’s incorporated. There is not a class where film or animation will not somewhat be included within the course. When it comes to outside work I started working in the business my sophomore year due to an internship, that led to paid work and more internships and now as a starting senior I am getting decent consistent work as a PA or anything else. Sophomore: Going to Platt I’ve had the opportunity to expand my digital art skills, my communication skills, and my interview skills. The teachers have been excellent, having the passion for what they love to do and helping there students to ensure success for their students. The campus is close by, making the commute easy. Other: I have not attended any classes yet at Academy of Art University Online, but my experience with applying has been phenomenal. My advisor checks in almost every week to make sure that I am doing well and that I am accomplishing various steps toward attending classes. Everyone I have talked to has been amazingly kind and helpful. They have made the application process easy and I know there are many people to help me during classes if needed.
