Graduate Student: I had a pretty good experience here! There were some teachers within the nursing program who acted like they didn’t care, but there were far more who did! They helped motivate me and even talked me off the ledge when I was thinking about quitting! Junior: Texas Woman's University is an amazing school. I am a nursing student at the Houston campus. I have learned so much in my short time attending. I have only spent a semester at TWU and I absolutely love it. The professors are very knowledgeable and they are really good at teaching and making lectures engaging. The professors have been nice, understanding, and very professional. Although the content they teach can be difficult, they deliver it in a way that is easy to understand. Alum: I spent two semesters at Tarrant County College Northwest Campus to get my Associates of Science. My instructors were almost all excellent, very understanding, and helpful, with the exception of a single online course I took (it was essentially a weekly assigned reading and essay with minimal teacher interaction). There are abundant resources on campus for students, with tutoring and dedicated help centers separated by subject. The extracurriculars were also fun. I got involved in the school's math club, music club, and philosophy club (Pi club, NW Music Association, and Plato's cave). It being a community college, the clubs were relatively small (5-10 people), which made it feel much more personal. The campus also has a gym and pool that are free to use, which was VERY awesome. The cafeteria is a bit lacking, being a Subway and some vending machines, so definitely bring a lunch. Sophomore: Overall, my community college was and still is an amazing experience! Sophomore: Collin College has been a great stepping stone for me. I have never felt so myself and confident because of how diverse Collin’s environment is. I enjoy going to school and feel that every professor and staff member there wants you to succeed. I really like how inclusive they make the school activities and how it’s free for everyone. I would like to see an even stricter security outside of the school. We do have security inside, but there is not a scanning component at the entrances so anyone is free to enter. Sophomore: Delmar College has been a great experience for me. Freshman: Navarro College provides many great opportunities for it's students. There are very diverse ranges of classes & professors. In my personal experience, my professors are always encouraging to ask questions and be open with them. This obviously makes my piers and I more comfortable and more open to learning constantly. They provide a sense of compassion that I have never experienced in my whole life when it comes to education. It makes me eager to push myself past my expectations and also break barriers. The campus is also beautiful. Being that it is a junior college it is smaller when compared to 4 year institutions but this takes nothing from it. Junior: I have been at blinn for majority of my college experience and excited to graduate the surgical tech program (the professors in this program are top tier) next year! Blinn as a whole is a great school when trying to factor in cost and the efficiency of the school. I have had some issues with professors in the past and then unable to drop the class even though they (the professors) were unprofessional. The faculty in the admissions is great, I’ve never had an issue. I would love to see the advising department become a little more enthusiastic about helping the students. As for the financial aid department, they are helpful to an extent. I’ve always struggled with getting aid even though I’ve been independent since I was 17, but as far as the schools concerned that does not qualify you to get appropriate aid. They are super friendly in that department but not very helpful regarding some unfortunate circumstances. As for the party life, it’s non existent unless you know people already....
