Junior: I absolutely adore ETSU! It has been such an incredible place to call home. Coming from over an hour away, and never having been to Johnson City before, I had no reason to believe this would become home for me. Despite this prior hesitancy, this place has become home. From the other students to faculty and staff, you are more than just a number here. Some larger universities it feels as though you are just another check to the university's bank account, YOU ARE NOT HERE. These people care and the location is beautiful. The faculty pushes you to go farther and beyond just the walls of the classroom. Study abroad opportunities are bountiful, and internships are easy to come by. Sophomore: The school shines in its outdoor activities allowing for a lot of new and exciting opportunities such as rock climbing, white water kayaking, caving, etc. Many of the professors have a passion and gift for teaching, encouraging students to take responsibility for their education. However, the food tends to be expensive without many options and has a subpar taste. Additionally, events such as Vespers or Convocation count towards mandatory worship credits. If these worship credits are not met the students can face heavy fees. The housing department of the school is abysmal and can take weeks to respond or not follow up at all. Junior: I am a transfer student with an Associates in Fine Arts ; my transfer was extremely effortless as well as campus housing . Wesleyan University is very welcoming you feel right at home. They are still working on my 504 accommodations that process seems slow even though that paperwork was delivered 5mths ago. Disability services needs an update, probably more people in that department to insure a good paper trail to students information especially with personal information. Sophomore: South College is a beautiful and organized campus. Any of the staff that I have come in contact with are understanding, and extremely helpful. I have taken online classes and in person, and I can say that the professors are caring, and want their students to succeed. When considering a college during high school, I was unsure if I wanted to experience the large university scene, as I would just be a body in the room, and the professors would not know my face or name. When I toured South College for the first time it felt comfortable and refreshing, as the classrooms weren't huge and the campus was well organized. Graduate Student: I could say a multitude of wonderful things about Chattanooga State Community College, but if I had to choose one thing to share, it would be how amazing the staff is. Chatt State's staff goes above and beyond to ensure every student’s needs are met; whether physical, emotional, or mental. From the lunch ladies, janitors, and security team, to the ladies in the bursar's office, professors, and presidential staff. Because Chattanooga State is a two-year community college, I would like to see more opportunities for students to practice skills in the environment of their field/major. Other schools may have higher academic scores or even a more "exciting" athletic department, but no one else could possibly have a greater staff. These workers put everything into making sure students have all the tools they need to continue on to higher education or head straight into the workforce. What more could you ask for? Sophomore: I have enjoyed many things at Roane State. A few of the things I’ve like about this school is the willingness to help each student from the financial aid office, the staff, and the advisors. Bring a first generation graduate, I’ve had to figure out many things myself, but thanks to the people at Roane State, it hasn’t been difficult. Another thing I like about Roane State is that there is always free food on Wednesdays. Yummy! Another thing I’ve enjoyed is how there is always some type of event where students can participate in and win things. One thing I would like to see changed is the way the Harriman campus looks. The inside is fine itself, but the outside looks dull and not welcoming. A few more plants, a few more colors, and pressure washing the outside of the building would make it look slight better. The Oak Ridge campus looks alot more appealing and welcoming than the Harriman campus. I think it should be the other way around. Overall, I have enjoyed this community college.... Read 510 reviews

Freshman: When I first visited Tennessee State University, it made me change my perspective on college in general. Because of the tour, my mind was then set on an HBCU (Historically Black College University) The way they embodied and embraced family at the school, made me more comfortable with my decision on going. I recently just experienced orientation there in June, and I can definitely say it made me more confident with leaving home behind. Junior: I think the school is really great for people who do not want to go to 4 years of college for a medical profession. I love that I’m able to do their required “prerequisites” as the general education terms. I do think a lot of the process to get in is confusing and out of order. There are lots of people that you can ask questions that you may have by you may get different answers from different people.
