Alum: Definitely do a campus tour first before you commit to a school, because this school. WOW. Caught my eye and I felt like I could see myself getting my degree here in four years. The campus itself is amazing, and is easily maneuverable if you find yourself late for class. Also a great place to go if you are from Hawaii. Many of my friends were from Hawaii and it just made easing into college way easier. I did not feel like I have left home at all. All the professors are great and they all have their own personalities which make classes all the more fun to attend. Sophomore: Portland Community College has such wonderful professors that really care about their students. Professors were kind, accommodating, and willing to listen to their students. They are interested in the success of their students. I really enjoyed going to PCC, especially learning about topics that weren't discussed in high school. I love the online format that PCC uses, it is easy to understand and can be easily explained to new students. PCC is the place to go when you start or continue your college journey!... Sophomore: Warm and accepting community. Campus is always hosting community events and activities, and the entire environment is very friendly-neighborhood-esque. The arts programs' and trade programs' instructors really know their stuff! The professors and classrooms are all very professional and high-standards, though some of the facilities are smaller due to the community nature of the college. I felt the credits I received were accurate reflections of how much I learned. I took a fiction class here, and I feel that some of my best story writings came out of that course.... Niche User: I took an online math class at Lower Columbia College for college in the high school credits. The teacher was incredibly helpful and kind. The students worked hard and created a comfortable community. During the class, I was able to learn hands-on math skills as well as participate in a close-knit community. I have been on campus and it is a relatively nice area! The only critique I have is that the teacher did not grade very quickly and I would have to wait for important grades until the class ended. The class was scheduled for Monday and Friday but did not have a Zoom meeting which was incredibly convenient. The course was 'do it at your own pace'. The cost of attending Lower Columbia College is somewhat affordable and my school covered the cost of credits. I hope to tour the campus more to see if Lower Columbia College would be a viable option for me. I spoke to other students and they seem to enjoy the class too!
