Sophomore: My experience at State Tech has been very professional. The professors care about you succeeding and are always willing to help. They took the time to help me transfer programs and gave me all the necessary paperwork in a timely manner. They are always quick to answer questions through email and always keep you up to date with events. The facilities are always clean and the food is very good! Personally, I like how the college is smaller in numbers compared to a big university because it is easier to build a relationship with classmates and professors. Junior: This college is awesome! I honestly saved more money financially and didn’t take any loans out. The teacher are amazing and very understanding when it comes to you and your work problems. I personally would recommend this college, many will say it’s basic to go to a community college but when you graduate ask them if it was basic after they have taken all those loans after you have taken none out! Your experience here in OTC will be fun! More hands on in whatever field you choose and also remember it’s more faster then a bachelors. OTC is a fun way to get your associates the fastest and easiest way. Being debt-free and also have a more hands-on experience when it comes to the classroom you’re taking, not just in the field you’re doing. You can explore other different types of fields and different types of classes to discover what is best for yourself and for your future. Junior: Overall, I have gained a lot from my years at MCC. My first year was incredibly difficult for me because I was not properly prepared to be accountable for myself without anyone being there to push me along. So, I do think that there needs to be a little bit more support for first-year college students. Maybe in English Comp 1, which most first-year college students take, there is a section about learning to take notes for college and how some people take notes differently and work that into the curriculum. I also think the advisors need to be more informed about what students may need when transferring to outside Universities after their time here. Personally, I have a lot of classes that I need to transfer to another school's Nursing programs that my advisor did not inform me of or even tell me to begin looking at what I may need. Junior: What I like about Saint Louis Community College is that there are very good teachers and and understanding staff. Saint Louis Community College is also affordable for the most part compared to other universities or schools ! The people and students are nice and helpful and they have a lot of resources to help the students succeed . Like study places and the library and a new cafeteria . Something I would like to see changed is the eligibility requirements for financial aid. I feel like sometimes they are very strict and life is very difficult out here and sometimes it’s hard to revive financial aid even when you need it .
