Junior: I am not native to Idaho, but I have now lived here for 10 years. I knew I wanted to pursue a nursing degree and had slim options. Luckily, I work at a local hospital and knew which schools had good and bad reputations. I am one semester into the ARN program and the rumors are true - CEI students are prepared for hands-on patient care! We've learned skills that will serve us well in simulation and clinical settings. We have incredible instructors, many of whom still work in the healthcare field while teaching. Their knowledge is impressive and the one-on-one relationship you can form with them is rare and appreciated. I am very impressed with CEI as a whole. Sophomore: CSI - Golden Eagles located in Twin Falls, ID the home of the Snake River Canyon. This is a small community with lots of outdoor adventure possibilities. The CSI Rec. Dept. is a great connection to the outdoors with activities like kayaking, mountain biking, skiing and the like. They also offer rentals of outdoor equipment for students to go the adventure. Great community college offering many sports teams, Associate Degrees in Health Sciences; Agriculture, Liberal Arts, Business, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Computer Science, RN, Dental Hygiene, Fire Science, Education, Engineering, work development for industry trades like welding, mechanics and solar energy. There are so many supportive services like a food pantry and counseling. There are dorms, a book store and a Performing Arts center. Inexpensive, great science instructors and support community.
