Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - New Orleans
Junior: LSUHSC has been an incredible experience. I am confident that I am receiving some of the best medical training in the country. The facilities are incredible, especially the new NSTC which offers state-of-the-art SIM and lab educational experiences. It seems like the university is concerned with maintaining a diverse workforce, which is nice to see compared to it's campus in Baton Rouge--- the DEI department is constantly looking for ways to improve the student culture on campus. The faculty is very present, and invested making the program as efficient for students as possible.
Organizationally, there could be some work. At times, deadlines are not met, and details are not completed on the administrative side. The school of nursing emphasizes a "chain of command" communication system that is often effective when issues arise within the faculty, but the administration seems to be on its own island....
