Niche User: ​​Northland is an amazing small college located in north Minnesota. Through my time there I've been able to connect with many teachers and create connections to improve my academics. Every professor has been extremely helpful and always willing to help you if need be. The college is the perfect size for anyone looking for a small college. There aren't many sporting events to attend, but the town makes up for it by hosting a variety of events throughout the year. Sophomore: I enjoy the campus atmosphere. I made a lot of good friends, and none of my professors were terrible. Overall, very welcoming and enjoyable! I like the different events that are put on, especially the ones showcasing minorities. The push for diversity, equity, and inclusion is good to see as well. I would like to see a change in the accessibility resources department, however, because many of my friends have had bad experiences with getting accommodations, including my disabled friend who is in a wheelchair. Sophomore: I had the pleasure of attending Riverland Community College after graduating High School. When I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in computers. So by attending Riverland I got to explore my options when it comes to a career in computers. The instructors are phenomenal and truly care about your success. I never felt afraid of going to my instructor when asking for help. During my time at Riverland, I participated in Drama Club, IT Workstudy, and Student Senate. I felt by participating in these groups, I increased my interpersonal skills. After almost being done with Riverland, I truly found out what I want to do for a career. I have decided to pursue a career in the Motion/Performance Capture industry. So I will be transferring to UW Stout in fall 2021.
