Alum: Hamilton is one of the best liberal arts colleges in the country. The campus is beautiful and the facilities are impressive. I was constantly blown away by the intelligence of both my professors and classmates. I hear about people from other schools struggling to get jobs out of college, but I’ve gotten tons of interviews and received several job offers (just accepted one the other day). And from what I can tell, my classmates are finding similar success in the workforce, at grad school, or in whatever they pursue. Hamilton does a fantastic job preparing students for further education; I know several people at T14 law schools and have classmates pursuing PhDs at Ivy Leagues and other top universities. Whatever you want to do, a Hamilton education will prepare you to do it. Oh, and people LOVE Hamilton. Senior: I have enjoyed my time at Binghamton University. I am pursuing medical degree after my undergraduate and have received a lot of support from Binghamton's academic advising to make sure that I am on track. Taking online classes during the pandemic shut down was an interesting way to start my journey at Binghamton University, but they managed to adapt to changing circumstances and deliver impeccable educational content. Alum: Overall pretty satisfied with my undergraduate experience, but SUNY Buffalo is definitely a school that might not appeal to everybody. If you're a fan of big schools like myself, then it's great; plenty of campus activities and sports, absolutely amazing food choices (the dorm even has a grocery store), different campuses with different vibes for different people, and so many groups of people from all different walks of life. However, it's definitely huge party school (a pro and a con), and there's some safety issues outside of South campus to be aware of. Likewise, due to the massive class size, it's essential to be self-reliant/driven in your studies, and I could definitely see the 500 person lecture halls and greater difficulty connecting with professors turning-off people from UB. Parts of North campus itself does look a bit visually unappealing, and parking is a constant issue among students as well. Freshman: The school year has just begun, but I can already say I love it! Junior: Hello! My name is Cesia Arzu and I am a junior at SUNY Plattsburgh. This is a great college for those who want to be far from the city but want to still be in the state. This college is great overall regarding diversity, faculty, and students. My favorite part about attending Plattsburgh would be the clubs that we have and the events. The events are true to the students and are a way to connect and make new friends. One event that I absolutely loved was the Black Solidarity event that we had, there were food and conferences about the black and brown culture that you barely hear about. It was a great educational experience for those of color and those who just wanted to learn more about black and brown cultures. Something else that I love about Plattsburgh is the small community that we have here. There are people for everyone. Here at Plattsburgh, we are friendly and we love making new friends. Sophomore: I think that Ithaca is an amazing college! All the professors and faculty are lovely and genuinely care about the students. The classes are all taught well and there is no shortage of specialty classes (and general classes as well). The campus itself is beautiful and the surrounding area is as well, with lots of different things to do and places to go to - especially if you like to be outdoors. I do have to say, that I wish the campus was more accessible for those who are disabled though. And the food in the dining halls aren't the best. And the wifi can be spotty. But most of these can be overlooked (not the lack of accessibility), because overall there isn't a place that I would rather be in. I returned to college in my early thirties as I wanted a formal education in a non-traditional environment, especially here in NYC. I completed 120 credits in nine consecutive semesters whilst working full time. Most of the professors I studied under were supportive, genuine, and approachable. Some were extraordinary. A few were terrible. I forged friendships which I still have to this day from my time there. I hold many, wonderful memories when I was at a juncture during my life where I was stable and prepared to do the work, to learn, and to grow as a person. I wouldn't change my experience for anything. The only real and obvious caveat is the overall cost for tuition, which is astronomical, and not what it was when I attended. Freshman: At Finger Lakes Community College, there is a great sense of community. There are many activities to do on Campus that will get you to interact with everyone around you and make new friends. Sophomore: I enjoy going to Suny Adirondack, as a current student I can say that the classes they offer are very interesting and fulfilling, though I've had a few run ins with faculty and staff and most of my issues were quickly resolved! The fellow students are all nice and pretty easy to get along with. While I do not live on campus, I have been in the dorms a couple times, they're pretty nice! I'm a huge fan of the room set up! As per college food, there's only 2 places to eat, and it's what you would expect from a community college. If you're really looking for something good to eat their Roast Beef sandwich is pretty good, and so are their chicken nuggets. The only downfall of this college is how unaccommodating they are towards their working students, I've butted heads with plenty of the staff in regard to scheduling meeting times after class hours to just get help on a homework assignment, or just to ask for more clarification on a paper we talked about in class. Alum: I graduated here in 2018. I met one of my best friends there. The classes are small, the library has what you need. The food was great, I thought. There was more campus life than it seems, you just have to look for it. The campus is beautiful, and the dorms were great, since they renovated them while I was there. If you like small classes, they are great, and the professors are really helpful. If you have learning and/or physical disabilities like me then they have a great program for that! They have two gyms, (one for sports and the other for regular exercise) and they are both great. They have two chapels and a cemetery for the nuns that used to run the college.
