Alum: My experience at MCC was great! All the professors I had were great and were invested in their students success. It is a good place to go to if you are not ready for a big university. They have so many resources available to students that it is impossible not to succeed, not only academically but personally as well. They also have two universities on campus that students could go to if they can not quite afford to go off to an expensive university. Other: I think San Jacinto College is great! It's a helpful and cost-effective way to get your basics done and out of the way while not having to pay the considerably higher price tags that 4-year universities like to put on their introductory classes. The teachers and students I've met are all very nice, the campus isn't that bad looking and the fries in the student cafe are heavenly. My favorite parts are when the clubs or the school itself hold festivals and such. I've received a custom-made license plate, flowers, and even ice cream for free at them! Sophomore: Lee College is a cheap and easy way to get a college education. For the price, you get a pretty good education. Professors are there to help you, they understand when situations occur and are willing to work with you. Email and keep in contact with your professors! It's a well known community college for a reason. The professors are good at what they do, some are less communicative or involved than others. Sophomore: Live going to school here! Teachers are so helpful and truly care about you as a person. Graduate Student: Grayson College is a great starter for new college students. The campus is beautiful, small, and easily navigated. The professors were caring, supportive, and involved to help students succeed. There is a great library with a writing center to help students improve their writing skills and essays for any course. The bookstore is small, but stocked with everything a student would need. Admissions, financial aid, and the career coaches knew their roles and responsibilities which made them able to help students without confusion and stress. Also want to note that there is a Veteran's lounge for service members and their dependents. It is a small, but welcoming area that allows students to print, use computers, and study. To point out the missing star, the cafeteria and student life were not highly frequented by myself. Therefore to approve a 5-star rating without proper opinions on those services is not helpful. Sophomore: Although the town is very small, I can honestly say the campus is very nice. I like that its a small campus. Class sizes are outrageously large which helps the teachers create bonds with the students and its a lot easier to learn and ask/get help from teachers. There is a large amount of teachers who care about their jobs and are very understanding, but there are a select few who don't put in as much effort as a professor should put in. Last year to this year, I have to say there have been lots of changes which have been for the better. We have lots of resources on campus for tutoring or even printing with no charge and its very convenient. Freshman: Navarro College provides many great opportunities for it's students. There are very diverse ranges of classes & professors. In my personal experience, my professors are always encouraging to ask questions and be open with them. This obviously makes my piers and I more comfortable and more open to learning constantly. They provide a sense of compassion that I have never experienced in my whole life when it comes to education. It makes me eager to push myself past my expectations and also break barriers. The campus is also beautiful. Being that it is a junior college it is smaller when compared to 4 year institutions but this takes nothing from it.
