Sophomore: This school maintains their Catholic identity fairly well and has a great campus ministry. The classes vary in difficulty, but overall the education is good. Most classes are not online, but, I would make sure to ask if your classes will be online if you're planning on taking a small major. Game Development, for example, is almost completely online. Some classes that are listed on the website are offered vary rarely or never, so I would definitely recommend talking with the head of your major before committing to this school and asking about this. I usually like the food and the housing is fine. The school is expensive, however, there are lots of scholarship opportunities that can lower the price. The school is small enough that you can find great community and some great help from professors. The library is good and the campus looks nice. The neighborhood is safe. Junior: The faculty at Otterbein University is amazing. The professors are passionate about teaching students so that they will succeed in whatever feild they go into. Otterbein also has so many opportunities for students to get involved. As a transfer student, finding a group to beling to at school was a little difficult at first. Staff members went out of their way to help me get involved! I came from a predominately online based university, so learning in person is also one of the perks for me. Alum: Mount Union was my #1 choice of universities ever since I visited for a little siblings weekend when I was just 10 years old. From then on, I knew I’d be a purple raider someday. My four years there certainly lived up to the expectations I had set so early on. Mount Union is a perfectly sized institution that is dedicated to diversity and inclusion and has such a great communal feel to it. The academic programs are some of the highest rated in all of Ohio and it is very apparent why. The faculty are dedicated to their students’ success and there are ample resources for students all throughout campus. Aside from academics, another large focus at UMU is campus involvement. A very large percentage of the student body is involved in at least one to two organizations which makes for extremely well rounded individuals graduating and being successful in their lives after college. Senior: I am a returning student at The University of Akron. After earning an associate's degree in 2002, I joined the working world. After many, many years away from school, I decided to return for a bachelor's degree. I reached out to an advisor who was extremely helpful. Alum: Overall, I had an amazing experience at my time at Muskingum University. Being a full time student and 3 sport athlete can be quite the workload but professors and coaches are always understanding of the balance needed for student athletes. Whether it be take an exam at a different time, or practice with the coach 1 on 1 if you can't make the practice time. Sophomore: I genuinely love attending AU. Everyone, including the professors, is so welcoming and puts emphasis on you as an individual. The professors want to and try to build genuine connections with their students. This being said, each student is assigned to a faculty advisor in their program after their freshman year, which establishes more personal connections. Sophomore: I first chose Capital because it was a calm and inviting vibe. The small classes and having professors personally know you make learning and studying more personal and applied is a great way to retain more information. It’s also a small campus so you get familiar with people quickly which adds to the inviting vibe. Freshman: Affordable tuition and living in Akron Prestigious education with tuition lower than other comparable universities in the U.S. Also, the cost of living in Akron is much lower than larger cities while still providing relatively high starting salaries. They also have an excellent International Center on campus that provides support for students from before they arrive in the US to after they graduate. University of Akron is a very friendly and warm place; It also has some kickass engineering programs including polymer science and polymer engineering. The faculty of both these departments are revered across generations and arenas as they’ve fraternised with some huge names during the 80’s and the place still holds the aura of greatness. The tuition is moderate which makes it easy for students like me who are self funded. Also, Akron is easy in your pockets.
