Alum: I attended the Ridgeland Campus of Holmes Community College. The main campus is located about 45 minutes away in Goodman, Mississippi. Holmes in Ridgeland is a great school. The teachers and employees at the school seem genuinely happy to be working with students of all ages and backgrounds. There is an array of different education opportunities, including trades, provided at the college. Scholarships as well as work-based learning opportunities are available for students, whether first-time or non-traditional. The cafeteria is well-stocked with both hot and cold food options available morning and afternoon. There are vending machines in each building. The campus is beautiful and well maintained. There is landscaping and sidewalks throughout. The offices are easy to find and staffed fully. The professors offer normal office hours and seem to be willing to help. Sophomore: I do not believe I get to fully judge the experience of Pearl River Community College as I attend the smaller campus and not the main campus. However, from my experience at the local campus, the students and staff have been very kind and welcoming. The teachers, that I have had, are very understanding and dedicated. The students are very ambitious and eager to learn. One thing I believe the campus should work on is the student life and organizations such as clubs.
