Junior: I chose BW because I fell in love with the campus, and I felt like I was at home when I stepped onto the campus for the first time. This campus is accepting of people from all backgrounds and has plenty of organizations like Allies, Black Student Alliance, and SALSA. The campus is also tiny, meaning that I can walk across from the very south of campus to the very north in about 10-15 minutes. It's also close to amenities like shopping and dining and is only 25 minutes from downtown Cleveland. However, I would like to see some changes. For one, there needs to be more parking for students, as the parking situation across campus could be better. I struggle to find parking for my car at any given time. The dorms also need some love, as most of them look like they last updated in the 90s. Overall, however, I love the campus, the faculty, and everything else about it. I would highly suggest BW!... Freshman: Kent State is an amazing school! They have great club academics and athletics that really cater to anyone's needs or dreams. As a poly science student I have an overwhelming amount of resources that help me in my studies, networking and making myself a better person. At first I had doubt about Kent State due to it living in the shadow of Ohio State University (I live in central Ohio near Columbus for reference.) But I was so wrong. The only thing I will say is that compared to urban universities it lack things to do BUT Kent is considered a suburban area school so for what it is it goes above my expectations overall. Alum: My experience at Lakeland was like no other. I graduated from high school in 2020. I was planning on heading to Kent State when COVID came into play. I knew that going to Lakeland was a good decision, I just didn’t know how much it would impact me. Being mostly online for the past 2 years I still enjoyed every moment. One major thing that made my experience at Lakeland was having the chance to graduate with my aunt. During COVID she thought to herself and brought it to us, why not go back to school? Nobody had an answer to why she shouldn’t. So back to school she went. We actually had 2 classes together! One in person, one online. 2 years later, her and I were able to graduate together with our associate of arts degree and this is something that I will cherish forever. I couldn’t have done it without her by my side. She is one of my biggest supporters, my inspiration, and so much more. Sophomore: I am a commuting student attending at Tiffin University! The College provides a great educational opportunity for those interested in majoring in Criminal Justice or Forensic Psychology. The campus is relatively small and decorated by brick styled buildings. The school has a great program for those who are a part of music, theatre or art. Those interested in neither sports or the arts may be interested in g-sports for which have their own building as well. In regard to music students they have there own designated building for practice much like any other group on campus. The University also has a variety of options open for athletes. There is a turf stadium, grass game field, gymnasium, indoor lifting center, practice track and outdoor grass and turf practice fields. Among these great options there is also a large building with an indoor track and turf. Sophomore: Edison has been a great college from the moment I have arrived. The teachers have been incredibly helpful and even going out of their way to help students with issues, even if they do not correlate with the class. The class information is always laid out well and is easy to understand. Freshman: Sinclair online is a convenient way to take classes online, on your own time. The platform is well put together. Just as you would feel a sense of community on campus, you get the same thing with online classes. I love that students can interact and you are learning the same as students that are on campus. I wouldn't change a thing about the platform. I also get to interact with my instructors and have access to all of the same resources that is offered on campus.
