Freshman: Love my professors so far! They're very helpful and the campus is a good size. This college is very social based though, so without making the right friends or finding the right clubs to click with, you can't truly enjoy the college experiences ecu has to offer. Food options are decent but you learn grocery shopping is more so worth it that buying off of campus. Staff is friendly but overworked and under appreciated by ecu for what they do. Dorms are ok, but not worth board rates. They should get a new rooming system in place to find similarities between the people they're housing together especially since they require freshmen to stay there the first year. Freshman: Surry Community College has gone above and beyond to help me do my absolute best in college. I have taken college classes since I was a sophomore in high school, and my father was terminally ill. When he passed away my junior year, all of my professors were extremely kind and understanding, and helped me adjust to the schoolwork when I was ready. Sophomore: Sandhills Community College is a great way to take college-level classes at an affordable price. They offer a multitude of different classes and degrees. It is a great place for people who are just beginning their college education or for people who are coming back to finish their college education. Senior: I don't know where we all got the idea that community colleges are sad, under equipped schools for 40-year-olds and trade students, because SPCC is basically the opposite. Don't get me wrong, it is a humble school with only 3 or 4 buildings on campus, but the academics, cost, equipment available student to teacher ratio, and overall sense of community can't be beat. I absolutely love the small class sizes and the opportunity to build relationships with the professors. I also am always surprised at the equipment and resources available to all students (especially in the art department which has every art supply your heart could desire). The student body and faculty are so involved and are always there to make coming to campus a great experience! I wish their online courses were a little more dynamic and engaging but overall I am really enjoying my time at SPCC as I am challenged by the rigorous courses and supportive teachers.... Freshman: My advisors have been so helpful in my registration and enrollment process, and I feel supported in a process that can be overwhelming.
