Senior: I am a senior student at Farmingdale State College, and my major is Architectural Engineering Technology. I followed a good path after getting my Associate Degree at Suffolk County Community College, and now I am excited to receive my Bachelor Degree soon. FSC has been a great experience overall. I have improved myself for my future career in many ways. The education, class times, professor were all great. I would only change the social life status at school. Sophomore: Overall I liked QCC. They have lots of free programs to help students in STEM. There are opportunities for undergraduate research, on campus jobs, and free tutoring. Some clubs are good like the robotics club, but some are also bad. We had play with 4 puppies, pizza, and a carnival like event during a club once. The social life is what you make of it. QCC really helps to create a community and the campus is beautiful. I enjoyed most of my time in college and can’t wait to graduate debt free! Some advice - take classes at QCC while in high school or use CLEP and AP exams. You can accelerate your degree and save money or time. Also, summer STEM classes have their tuition waived for one class. Whichever CUNY you choose to go to, remember that you can always “epermit” a class at another CUNY. I used an epermit for a class at Queens College. I like QCC’s smaller classes. You get more help and guidance from professors. Most are nice and lenient. Rate my professor will be a lifesaver.... Freshman: I came to Rockland Community College as a reverse transfer student after bad experiences at my previous 4-year university - and I could not be happier! I was instantly accepted by everyone, and the students are very supportive of one another. I have never met such an inclusive and diverse group of people. For a community college, I believe that the education I have received so far has been superb. Instead of memorizing a book, we are asked thought-provoking questions and I leave all of my classes inspired. I could not have asked for a better group of teachers. However, I wish there were more clubs and activities to take part in, but this is a small community college and almost everyone has a full-time / part-time job which takes up most of their time.... Sophomore: Devry was 4 times more expensive than the community college I attended. But now, I'm working hard on my journey toward my bachelor's degree. DeVry is a fully accredited university and not a cakewalk. It is suitable for individuals who are dedicated and able to manage their time accordingly. You must be online 3 times a week to participate in online discussions. DAs DeVry's success coach, I have seen countless people struggling with form. Personally, it was nice to be working for a week. State schools are cheaper, but many struggles with the traditional format. It depends on your needs. I currently run the program and I will be happier after getting my degree. Also, getting a Pelgrant and getting a tuition discount can be a big help for tuition increases. It is thought that it is a sufficiently affordable and efficient school for students who need a degree, and especially at the point where online education due to coronavirus is popular, devry has many advantages in online education.... Freshman: Hudson County Community College, both the Union City and the Jersey City campus, provided me with an opportunity that wasn’t in my life before. I am 26 years old, and I never thought I would be going back to college after leaving almost seven years ago. Going back was scary, but I was excited to go to college for me instead of my parents. It was a challenging experience I will continue to go through and wouldn’t have it any other way. Professors I had during my first freshman semester pushed me and saw something in me that I did not see myself. I am grateful for that. I’m persuading a major that I love and that I’m continuing to learn about every single day. Hudson County Community College is a stepping stone in my academic career, and I’m grateful for it to be my first step into achieving my goals and receiving both of my degrees.
