Freshman: I recently got admitted into Michigan tech! So far it has been a thrilling affair with their admission process. It was really easy to apply and I'm really happy that I have the opportunity to go to such a great university. I had always wanted to be a husky and my dream is finally coming into fruition. Financing was my only obstacle. I had the grades, extracurricular activities, sports but not the money to get there. Niche and several other scholarships have given me hope that I might eventually end up there. Michigan tech has been helpful with all the opportunities they have provided. Alum: WCC is the best and most affordable college in the state of Michigan. Their programs are wide-ranging and extremely advanced, especially compared to other colleges. Very few colleges in the US the same amount effort into taking care of their students like at WCC. The resources they offer students are wide-ranging and easily accessible. The professors are usually extremely prefessional and highly experienced in their field of study. Of course there are teachers who are not, but the majority of teachers are good at their jobs. The in-person, virtual, and blended courses are somewhat lenient with due dates and missed tests; however, the online classes with no ZOOM component are brutal. There is basically zero interaction with the teachers except through email or the notes they leave on your graded assignments. If you're having a hard time or are falling behind the teacher isn't going to do much. Overall, WCC is a wonderful school with plenty of resources for students of all backgrounds.... Graduate Student: My experience at Gogebic was awesome it was funny because when I first got there I was afraid because I was 10 hours away from home and it was my first time leaving home so far for a while in 2019. I cried like a baby at first because I was in the middle of no where and I was just homesick. But as time pasted I loved Gogebic I met people that will be in my life forever, people I can call family Gogebic was really like my second home and I cried again when I graduated this past may I miss it so much. Junior: Overall, Northwood University has been a true blessing and a hidden gem that I am grateful to have found. I am very involved at Northwood University with our International Auto Show, Fashion Showcase, American Marketing Association Chapter, National Society of Leadership and Success, and DECA. I appreciate being a full-time student at Northwood University because of how I am known there as a name rather than a number. All of my professors greet me by name and answer any and all of my questions that I may have. If there were any changes that I would like to be seen made, it would be to increase the number of students that attend the university. Alum: I can not say enough great things about Ferris State University. First, the location is beautiful and the small town of Big Rapids was welcoming. The college is central to the area. It's easy enough to navigate and there is always someone around to give you directions or even recommendations to wherever you are headed next. And the school itself gives you professors that are fantastic. Most of the professors I encountered were kind and generous. So many are approachable and easy to talk with. One time in particular, I really struggled with an accounting class. It was difficult for me to understand the concepts that were discussed in the online setting, but by being able to go to the professor's in-office hours was detrimental to my passing grade. The professor only wanted to see my success and never made me feel ridiculous. Freshman: They are a great college, the staff cares about you and your well being and will help you get any resource that will help you succeed. They say you are more than a number at Baker College, I didn’t believe it at first but it’s true. The professors, at least in my program (veterinary technology) are extremely passionate and want to see you succeed. Baker also throws student tailgates where free food, drinks, and other treats such as ice cream or donuts and cider are provided. They also have activity’s and raffle drawings that are free to enter! Baker is sincerely a great college. Freshman: I am a freshman at Eastern Michigan University, I enjoyed my first semester a lot. The beautiful campus of Eastern provides many events and clubs to join, there is never a dull moment! The library is a great place to study either alone in quiet areas or even with a group of friends. There is a variety of food choices around the campus such as going to Starbucks in the student center for a quick coffee to eating at a sushi bar in the same student center. Niche User: Super easy and laid back. It's a great way to transition to university since most of the credits are transferrable. Most of the professors are nice, and the school offers different methods of online courses. The people who work there do a great job at leading you through everything and they are very inclusive. They don't offer anything like dorms because they were a community college but switched to being a regular college recently, since they expanded their nursing program to a 4-year degree. Alum: I attended Glen Oaks while I was still in high school and was even able to graduate with my associates before I graduated high school. In terms of academics Glen Oaks is a pretty standard community college but the staff is what made the experience so enjoyable. During my last year at GOCC I had hip surgery that put me on crutches for 6 weeks. I was very worried about being able to get to my class since it was on the opposite corner of campus then the parking lot but after talking with a professor they were able to get me a pass to be able to park at the entrance right next to my class. The only problem was that since it was the maintenance entrance there weren't any handicap doors. A few of the people who worked in the maintenance office saw me struggling one day and walked out to help me with the doors, after that there was almost always someone there to help me. Sophomore: I just finished my freshmen year at Davenport University, where I'm studying marketing! DU gave me a great freshmen year college experience that prepared me for the next three years of my life. I met so many great people and had special bonds with all the faculty and staff. I would not be here today without my degree from Baker College Online. I wish I could have attended in person, but I started while working in Alaska on the Pipeline.
