Graduate Student: I had a pretty good experience here! There were some teachers within the nursing program who acted like they didn’t care, but there were far more who did! They helped motivate me and even talked me off the ledge when I was thinking about quitting! In my Final semester, I didn’t have any financial aid to pay my tuition, but with the help of my advisor and financial aid, which one of my instructors told me to do, I was able to find and apply for a scholarship and finish my degree! I take loved the fact that I didn’t have to enroll myself in my classes also, so I never had to guess on what to take, even before I was in my program! They took great care of me. Other: I think San Jacinto College is great! It's a helpful and cost-effective way to get your basics done and out of the way while not having to pay the considerably higher price tags that 4-year universities like to put on their introductory classes. The teachers and students I've met are all very nice, the campus isn't that bad looking and the fries in the student cafe are heavenly. My favorite parts are when the clubs or the school itself hold festivals and such. I've received a custom-made license plate, flowers, and even ice cream for free at them! Overall I'm very satisfied with my San Jac experience and would recommend it to anyone who may not want to pay the 4-year universities their high price for basics that can be done at San Jac.... Niche User: I currently take dual credit classes and I went there recently to tour the campus. While the campus was well taken care of, It wasn't in the best area, but they have a 24-hour on-campus police and security section. The people there were very nice and helpful I got to speak to an admissions counselor and a finical aid advisor. The faculty was very friendly and they have lots of great resources to make sure that you thrive at the college, they have multiple free tutoring resources available online and in person. They have tons of options for your degree and they even have trade schools! Something that I noticed while taking their dual credit class is that the teachers are very helpful and willing to take time and help you, they respond to emails and texts really fast and it just seems like they actually want to succeed not just pass. Freshman: I recently got accepted to start my college career, although I had started college before and didn’t finish before joint the Army, and I’m trying to get my AAS in Cybersecurity. I plan to transfer to a four year college when I graduate CTC. I’m currently taking two classes online, one of which is self paced. But I do have two more classes starting on June 5th, then I will be full time. The staff at CTC has been amazingly supportive and helpful in my journey. My teachers are extremely patient with my work and I can definitely tell that they’re passionate about their jobs because of all of the help my fellow classmates and I receive. If I could change something about the way CTC works, what would that be? Honestly, nothing! I would recommend this college to anyone, especially someone who is just starting out. Sophomore: Collin College has been a great stepping stone for me. I have never felt so myself and confident because of how diverse Collin’s environment is. I enjoy going to school and feel that every professor and staff member there wants you to succeed. I really like how inclusive they make the school activities and how it’s free for everyone. I would like to see an even stricter security outside of the school. We do have security inside, but there is not a scanning component at the entrances so anyone is free to enter. Unfortunately, I wonder if that could come back to haunt us. The student council is really good at listening and understanding what is best for us students, so I do have hope that an open conversation could change the security system for the better. Overall, that doesn’t stop me from attending. I go to a technical campus and my professor has compared the work between her university students and us community college ones. Junior: My experience at DBU has been truly wonderful. I honestly believe that no other Christian private university stresses to the extent DBU does of integrating Christ into their education, activities, career preparation, etc. All the faculty and staff are extremely intentional, loving, and caring whether in class or at work, their number one priority is to help the students in any way they can. The price of DBU is deceiving because there are so many scholarships to help bring the cost down dramatically. My favorite thing about DBU is the community and relationships I have made here. I have made my lifelong best friends here. All students live on campus and there are close to no parties on campus. Freshman: Navarro College provides many great opportunities for it's students. There are very diverse ranges of classes & professors. In my personal experience, my professors are always encouraging to ask questions and be open with them. This obviously makes my piers and I more comfortable and more open to learning constantly. They provide a sense of compassion that I have never experienced in my whole life when it comes to education. It makes me eager to push myself past my expectations and also break barriers. The campus is also beautiful. Being that it is a junior college it is smaller when compared to 4 year institutions but this takes nothing from it. All of my classes are within a few minutes of walking from my dorm, it is very easy to get from point A to point B. There are many places you can study and get help as well, there is always faculty members around campus and they are always eager to answer any questions that can help you. Junior: I have been at blinn for majority of my college experience and excited to graduate the surgical tech program (the professors in this program are top tier) next year! Blinn as a whole is a great school when trying to factor in cost and the efficiency of the school. I have had some issues with professors in the past and then unable to drop the class even though they (the professors) were unprofessional. The faculty in the admissions is great, I’ve never had an issue. I would love to see the advising department become a little more enthusiastic about helping the students. As for the financial aid department, they are helpful to an extent. I’ve always struggled with getting aid even though I’ve been independent since I was 17, but as far as the schools concerned that does not qualify you to get appropriate aid. They are super friendly in that department but not very helpful regarding some unfortunate circumstances. As for the party life, it’s non existent unless you know people already....
