Alum: I had a wonderful experience at TCNJ! I was a Psychology major and Communication Studies minor. I took part in extracurricular activities which ultimately shaped my career path. Through this experience, I was able to apply what I was learning in the classroom to my work outside of the classroom. The faculty and staff truly care about their students and you get such a personalized experience. If it was not for meaningful conversations and experiences, I would not be where I am today. Junior: Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at BCC. As a transfer student I worried I would get lost having to learn to navigate an entirely new college system, but luckily BCC was fully supportive to me during this transition. The classes were challenging in a way that pushed me to be a better student, but weren't unmanageable. Most of the classes I took had professors who not only were extremely helpful but understood the type of students that were taking classes there. They helped with scheduling conflicts, and were very responsive when needing help. There is an extracurricular for quite literally everyone and their respected passions. For a two-year college there is a great campus life, that encourages its students to get involved. They offer free tutoring and professors will take the time during their office hours to help you understand that curriculum. Sophomore: It's not the most enjoyable experience to attend a community college, especially when you watch all of your friends at colleges having a good time, making new friends, partying, joining sororities, and doing other things you might be losing out on. Since I was unable to have the same experience that I watched everyone else having, I began to feel really upset and lonely. I didn't start to really appreciate it until the beginning of spring semester at Ocean County College. In the English class I was enrolled in, I met someone. Due to the fact that we were in a comparable situation, we quickly became the best of friends. She had a significant influence on my life and encouraged me to see the good in everything. Freshman: So far my experience with the Rowan Cumberland College of South Jersey has been quite the interesting journey. As a nineteen year old, I am meeting with some obstacles that I have been trying to figure out all on my own. And so far, the school has already shown me that sometimes you just got to ask for help. No matter how stubborn you may want to be at times. This school has given me the opportunity to express myself in ways that no other place has given me the chance to do so before. This particular school is giving me the chance to showcase my skills and interests not only as a wannabe artist, but also as the person I truly am going to become. Sophomore: My experience at Passaic County Community College has been good overall. For a student that is not completely sure of what career they would like to pursue, I would recommend enrolling in a 2-year college first. PCCC has given me the accessibility on time and financially to be able to work and study at the same time. I have been able to be part of the organizations like SGA which has helped me develop communication and social skills. This organization has helped me to connect more and be involved in college activities, and also participate in outdoor activities. PCCC is very diverse, you can connect with people who share the same ethnicity and likes. Something that I would like to see change is the advisement help offered to students. Since I enrolled at PCCC, I do not know who is my advisor, I have got a guide on my degree thanks to my professors who work in the CIS department and have given me advice on the classes I should take. Other: During my Mercer County Community College tour, I had a fantastic experience that left a lasting impression. The campus was very easy to navigate through and showed a healthy learning environment. The tour guide was knowledgeable and provided detailed information about the various academic programs and support services available.
