Freshman: Studying at NWTC is different from a traditional university. Most of the courses I am enrolled in are directly related to my future career field. NWTC is very concise in their educational practices and opportunities. There has not been a time yet where I had to ask myself, "how will I use this in my future career?" The professors are very accommodating, and it is evident that they want to see their students be successful, but not without putting in the proper time and effort. I have been at NWTC for one semester, and I can already see a slight issue in communication. When trying to communicate or get specifical information from anyone other than my professors, the response time is quite extended which can leave me feeling confused or frustrated.... Freshman: I love it, it is an amazing college and they are the best at answering any questions you have or anything you need help with. It is amazing with the online experience and classes it's so easy to access your student account and makes it a lot easier when your busy with home life work and school of course. In my opinion that college is the best by far there may be others that think differently but in my case it's in my town right by my house and it's a good source of information about what the college entails they have so many programs and give really good advice and helpful information I think it could be something to look into and they have tons of study programs and a bunch of stuff and resources to help you get started and help with anything financial if you need financial assistance or anything of the sort they have an online book store of to get any other materials that you need but it's only through your student account. Alum: I graduated from GTC in 2010 with my associate's degree. The advisors when going in to finish my pre-reqs did not properly put me in appropriate classes based on my ACT scores so I had to test out on some once I realized I was placed wrong and lost out on that money as it was too late for a full refund at that point even though it was their error. I did not appreciate the closed mindedness of one of the psych instructors and did fail their class as our personalities did not work out and he clearly did not appreciate my input. Once in my program though, my teachers were FANTASTIC! The smaller classes made it easy for the instructors to pay attention to all students and be able to dedicate time to ensure all understood or got extra attention if needed when struggling. Senior: I have enjoyed attending Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, Wisconsin via online course education. The option to complete my courses online was an extraordinary opportunity which made it possible for me to follow through with furthering my education. My Professors were amazing! Although my courses were all online my Professors were all readily available, responded quickly to any questions I had arise & were extremely helpful as well as understanding & encouraging. While some may students may have the misconception that online classes are difficult & that this avenue of learning leaves you isolated with Professors who are disconnected, unreachable & uncaring... I am here to tell you that this is absolutely NOT the case at CVTC in Eau Claire. I couldn't be happier with my experiences & my education I received through CVTC. Junior: I have a few credits to finish up for my associate degree. So far my experiences have been very positive. The Registered Nurse Program at MATC has been what I expected. I’m sure that the networking courses get into more intense material, but networking isn’t my favorite thing. The Support program does make me want to continue my education in nursing. I think that’s a positive. When I started back at MATC, it was difficult because I’d been out of school for something like 13 years. I didn’t know exactly what to expect or how I would adapt to classes again. I can’t think of anything that would have helped me first. It was definitely time to get back in school and it has worked out well. The only change I would make to the MATC program would be scheduling, There were plenty of courses that I wanted to take in class rather than online but the scheduling wasn’t available.
